It’s Love Your Zoo week 2015!

Love Your Zoo Week 2015

From May 23-30, it is Love Your Zoo Week in the UK, so get out and have a zoo adventure with your little ones this half-term.

Love Your Zoo Week is designed to remind mums and dads what a great day out you can have with your children at the zoo, and what a brilliant thing to plan for half-term.

The week was launched by BIAZA, the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

The Welsh Mountain Zoo is taking part, with free activities including a fun trail, which starts as soon as your little ones walk through the gate. Children can follow the trail around the zoo learning about different animals, with questions and games, and the chance to win a prize draw.

There will also be zoo-keeper talks each day, and a range of craft activities.

Nick Jackson, Director at the Welsh Mountain Zoo said: “This is a fantastic annual event that helps celebrate all things Zoo! Whilst the Zoo is a fantastic day out, there is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes, particularly in relation to conservation and breeding that people may not be aware of. We’re keen to be able to share more on this aspect of our work and show a different side to the Zoo that people may not automatically associate with us.”
