IVF baby’s journey filmed from conception to birth

Watch one baby’s journey right from the moment of conception through IVF, up to birth and beyond.

Jaycie’s Journey has been produced by CARE Fertility, using embryoscope time lapse imaging. The fertility treatment providers say: “For the first time you can watch a baby's journey to life from 1 cell to the 100 trillion cells of a baby at birth”.

Paul Jones and Paula Chapman, from Mansfield, took part in the project and their daughter Jaycie was filmed from the moment of conception, following their fertility treatment.

Paul said to CARE Fertility: "When you have been trying for a baby for a long time, to see that little embryo working so hard to grow it's really reassuring. We could watch her developing on the TV screen at home. Now we have a complete film of her from before we even had a positive pregnancy test."

CARE's embryologists have access to around 5,000 images for each individual embryo, resulting in its unique timelapse imaging system CAREmaps.
