Breast milk is packed full of vitamins and minerals vital for a baby’s growth and development – and it seems it’s not just babies who are reaping the benefits, but male athletes too!
A number of male athletes are reportedly turning to breast milk as an alterative to energy drinks.
Anthony, a 30-something athlete from Queens, New York, told NYMag.com that a number of men at different gyms consume ‘the good stuff’ to keep their energy levels up.
He typically buys the milk online and revealed that it gives him ‘incredible energy’ that he doesn’t get from other food and drinks.
'I don’t believe in steroids or other energy supplements, none of that garbage,’ he says.
‘I want natural stuff that’s God-given, and if it’s okay with moms looking to get rid of it, I’ll take it.’
What’s more, it’s not only athletes who are giving the nutritious milk a go.
According to recent research undertaken by the New York Times on pregnancy Google searches, breastfeeding is a topic of curiosity for many dads.
The Telegraph reported that one of the top searches was variations of 'can I drink my wife's breast milk?' – especially in India.
Similarly, the most common search including the phrases ‘how to’ and ‘my husband’ is ‘how to breastfeed my husband.’ Err…
