Photos of a little boy snuggling with his adorable puppy have melted hearts around the world this week.
Watching your little one sleep soundly is one of the many pleasures that being a mum brings, but what about watching your little one sleep alongside the other baby of the house?
This 23-month-old baby boy has shown the world who his BFF is – pictures of the toddler and puppy napping have gone viral via Instagram.
The baby boy’s mum and quick-thinking blogger, Jessica Shyba uploaded the images to her Instagram account after her son Beau started sleeping next to eight-week-old puppy Theo because the young dog was scared to be on his own.
According to the toddler's mum, the ‘brothers’ have been sharing daily two-hour naps together since they struck up a baby bond with each other.
‘I was practically howling at the cuteness – and nearly woke them both up,’ Ms Shyba said.
The 34-year-old wrote on her blog, Momma’s Gone City, ‘They sleep, entwined, for at least two hours.’
While these two are undeniably cute and obviously have a very special bond, it isn't something experts would reccomend.
Ali Taylor, Head of Canine Welfare Training at Battersea Dogs & Cats home says, ‘It’s really important that you never leave any small child or baby unattended with any dog, as children can be very unpredictable and erratic – they can poke, pull, prod or pinch a dog and that could easily prompt a negative response from your pet.
‘Dogs that are sleeping shouldn’t be disturbed and Battersea recommends you don’t let your child sleep with a dog or puppy, as even the smallest, unexpected movements of a sleeping child could cause the dog to jump up or react.’
