A rainbow baby is the name given to a baby born following a miscarriage or still birth. The term is coined from the idea that a storm is followed by a beautiful bright rainbow, giving hope to families that things will get better.

This month, Jools Oliver launches her second rainbow baby bodysuit, as part of her Little Bird by Jools collection. The short-sleeved cream bodysuit features a bright rainbow print, with the wording ‘my rainbow baby’.

The bodysuit will be available in selected Mothercare stores and online, and will be available in sizes newborn up to 12-18 months. £1 from the sale of each bodysuit will go to Tommy’s, the leading charity funding research into pregnancy problems that lead to miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth.

When talking about the collection, Jools Oliver said: ‘I am so proud to be launching this beautiful Little Bird, my rainbow baby bodysuit. The response to the first bodysuit we launched last year was incredible and I was taken aback by some of the heartfelt stories that were shared with us.

‘Tragically, 1 in 4 women loses a baby during pregnancy or birth and when that happens it changes the lives of so many families. Tommy’s is a wonderful charity that funds much needed research into pregnancy problems and provides important pregnancy health information to parents. I am so happy we are able to work together again.’
