Mothercare issues urgent recall of popular baby toy over battery fears

Section: Toddler

Toy giants Mothercare have issued an URGENT recall of 'My First Keys' toy over fears battery 'could fall off' during use.

The toy key set has been on sale (both online and in stores) from June 2017 right until this month, according to the official Trading Standards recall.

Mothercare's 'My First Keys' with a batch code 02-161024, 02-161205 and 02-170509 are affected by this recall.

The batch code can be found on the back of the key set (see below) and any other version with a different code are thought to be unaffected by the faulty battery.

Trading Standards has warned that parents and children should stop using the toy immediately if it matches with the recalled batch code and to return it to their nearest Mothercare store where they will be given a full refund.

If you have any questions or concerns about the recall, you can contact the brand by emailing product.safety@mothercare.com. You can view the full details of the 'My First Keys' product recall here.
