The Charlie’s Angels star only gave birth to her second daughter three weeks ago, and has been gushing about how happy she is
Picking a baby name can be tricky at the best of times, but especially for Hollywood actress Drew Barrymore, who’s revealed that when deciding on a name for her newborn daughter, Frankie, they had to consider how it would sound alongside her other child, Olive, 19 months.
Speaking on the Ellen DeGeneres chat show alongside Adam Sandler, her co-star in her new film, Blended, it was clear Drew was still in those first happy, hormonal weeks after having a baby.
‘I feel so happy that my kid is happy and healthy, I have nothing to complain about. I’m so blessed.’
And when asked about her three-week-old baby, Drew was happy to elaborate on how they picked her name, Frankie.
‘It’s hard because we love the name Olive, but we’re like, “what goes with Olive?”,’ to which Ellen quickly quipped back, ‘Martinis?’ (We like your style, Ellen!)
She went on to say, ‘Every started sounding like a colour or a food. Hazel’s a great name. No, that’s two shades of green. I loved the name Pepper, but Olive and Pepper, that’s like two things you find in a pantry!
‘With Frankie, it was just a name that came to my husband and I a few months before she was born and we were like, “I think this is it”. And then we just gave ourselves the room to change our mind but we never did. And my mother-in-law’s maiden name is Franco and I love her so much, it reminds me of her.’
Drew also spoke about how Olive is coping with having a new baby sister.
‘She really gets that she has a sister and says ‘Frankie! Sister!’ and she loves playing with her and she’s not mad about her at all yet. So it’s all positive,’ said Drew.
