Section: Halloween

Celebrate the change of seasons with these autumn home decoration ideas for inside and outside your house – think pumpkins, colourful leaves, sunflowers, and of course a little bit of stylish spook thrown in.

We're right on the verge of October, the weather has definitely got chillier, the leaves are beginning to turn and our thoughts are turning towards Halloween and (yay) Christmas. But don't get too far ahead of yourself, autumn itself is a brilliant thing to celebrate. And there are loads of decorations available to transform your home into a really impressive autumn 'grotto'.

We're taking a leaf out of Stacey Solomon's book (one of our favourite celeb mums) and using her amazing autumn door as inspiration.

Mrs Hinch is another great place to turn to for decoration ideas, we love this homemade autumnal wreath she made last year:

Good evening Hinchers!! How are you all? Sorry this isn’t the clearest of pics ๐Ÿคฃ but if you watched my stories the other night (or watched my seasons highlight) you’ll know I made an autumn wreath using lots of little mini EBayers and then spray painted pumpkins white and grey to make an autumn/Hinchoween type theme outside the front of my house ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ™ˆ I know it’s not amazing but I stood out in the dark and the rain just to look at it for a bit and it really made me smile so I wanted to share it with you guys! Our home accounts are not about who has the biggest or best house ... it’s about creating an account to share the love for your home. Also to share ideas and support eachother! And as cheese as it sounds.. make insta friends! I’ve personally made millions of those ๐Ÿ˜‰ so thank you to EACH and EVERY single one of you reading this post! I’ve now finished bathing and feeding our Ronnie so he’s gone to sleep ๐Ÿ’ค ... so guess where I’m going? .. back in the loft ๐Ÿคฃ I’ve had the most amazing extension built but I’m more obsessed with sitting in my loft! It’s like my own little Aladdin’s cave and I couldn’t be happier with it! Have a cute and cosy evening Hinchers! Lots of love from the Hinch family ! Xxx #mrshinch #imahincher #hinchoween #autumn #homehinchome Ps: a HUGE thank you to the amazing @poppybelleflorals for my artificial hanging baskets! They are just perfection (even in this weather ๐Ÿ˜‰) thank you darling โค๏ธ *gift

Now you've got a bit of inspiration, here are our top picks for decorations you can buy online, both for inside and outside your home – it's completely up to you if you go full Halloween, stick to classic autumnal colours, or do a mixture of both!

We've also included some fun craft kits so that you and your kids can get creative making your own decorations.

Berries, colourful maple leaves and cute pumpkins make this colourful 40cm wreath the pick of the season.

This Halloween hanging wreath is perfect to have on your door to greet guests and trick-or-treaters. With a welcome sign and cute Halloween elements, this hanging wreath is perfect for decorating your Halloween house.

We love this tongue-in-cheek "The Witch is in" plaque. Frame with an autumnal wreath for a gorgeous door decoration.

The price includes a pack of two maple leaf garlands, both 5.9ft long so you'll have plenty of foliage to create a stunning mantle decoration or to frame your doorway. With realistic shading and vein detail on a flexible garland, it's easy to arrange and can also be used outside.

Sunflowers, pumpkins and maple leaves - what could be more autumnal! This garland is easy to hang as it has two metal loops on each end, and the high-quality fabric material means it can be used inside or outside, even under wind, rain, or sunshine.

With 96 stickers included in each pack, you'll have enough to create your own bat cave! With four sizes included, plus double sided adhesive tape, all you have to do is fold the bat wings into your preferred shape.

This pack of 12 assorted pumpkins will make a great statement at your front door. They also make great props for an impromptu autumn baby photo shoot!

A must have Halloween decoration, this 2m string of 10 fabric pumpkin lanterns will get you in the Halloween mood!

The must-have addition to any Halloween display, these clever decorations will make your day! Crafty kids will love the colourful effects this cool technique creates.

Ideal for kids to get involved with pumpkin decorating, these ceramic candle holders would also make a great craft party favour. Choose from a bat or pumpkin design, the kit comes with paint, brush and ceramic tealight holder ready to decorate.

These photo props are great fun to have as part of your home decor – you could go all out and set up a photo booth for trick-or-treaters, or even use the props themselves to create fabulous pumpkin decorations.

For the younger tots who can't get as involved in pumpkin carving but love stickers, how about these brilliant pumpkin decorating stickers. With a range of spooky designs, you'll be able to create unique and effective pumpkins. The best thing about these stickers is that they're waterproof, so will last well in pride of place in your autumn grotto.
