For families wanting a fantastic UK family holiday with endless activities that are close to a beautiful beach, you need to look no further than Bluestone, set in the heart of Pembrokeshire national park.

Location

Imagine beautiful, luxurious cabins set within the hills, surrounded by glorious countryside. That is exactly what you will find on your Bluestone holiday. This 5* resort has everything you would hope to find.

Set in South Wales, the beautiful countryside and coastline is sure to fill you with joy. It is only a short 20-minute drive from the wonderful sandy beach of Tenby, which in my opinion is one of the loveliest UK beaches I have visited with my children.

Beautiful golden sand and lovely clear water, not to mention the backdrop of Tenby town, which is something really quite special.

The generously sized cabins are luxurious both inside and out, well equipped and fantastically thought out for families. They provide you with high chairs, stair gates, even child-friendly plates and cutlery for your little ones!

The view from your lodge is of stunning countryside and is beautifully quiet and undisturbed.

If you are looking for a self-catering holiday, this enables you to bring all the food you need as there is a lovely big freezer, fridge, and all your necessary cooking utensils.

This is something that I found to be really beneficial to keep my holidays spends to a minimum.

As the lodges are set into hillsides, they can be a little bit of a walk from the main village. Whilst the walk is perfectly do-able, there are golf buggies you can hire as an extra.

If you fancy treating yourself, these are a great idea, plus the kids absolutely loved them! Just bear in mind that there is a limited number of them for hire, so I would advise you to book these before your arrival.

Activities

There are so many activities to take part in at Bluestone. There is such a varied choice that even your smallest of children will be squealing with delight!

From high ropes and zip wires to Kayaking on the lake, there is an adventure to be had for the whole family at every turn.

For my family and I, the real treat was the newly opened Serendome. A fantastic under-cover dome with a huge array of activities to enjoy no matter what the weather.

There are play zones with sand and water, and areas to get your little ones imagination buzzing with giant building blocks.

One of the best aspects of this fantastic dome is the fact that most of these areas are free to use, as much as you like. For my husband and I, with three young children, it was brilliant to always have somewhere to go that was an all-weather experience, fantastic fun and...free!

The Blue Lagoon swimming pool is sure to provide you and your little ones with hour after hour of entertainment. There are thrilling water slides, a lazy river, as well as various toddler splash areas.

Bluestone has even gone so far as to provide you withswim nappies at the poolside. All the thoughtful little touches such as that, I found to be exceptional.

The use of the pool is free to use as much as you wish during your stay, which we certainly took advantage of as the children simply loved it.

Food and entertainment

There is a wealth of dining venues at Bluestone, with something to suit every budget. From a lovely traditional country pub, to take away fish and chips. With something to suit every taste, even the fussiest of eaters will be happy!

One evening we decided to take a stroll through the woods and stumbled upon Camp Smokey.

The woods were literally alight with live music and dancing! This outdoor dining venue was the place to be for a fantastic atmosphere and wonderful food. This gets very busy, so needs to be pre-booked, but definitely not one to be missed.

After an afternoon of fun in the Serendome, you can sit and enjoy some of the lovely food on offer within the dome. All brilliantly priced, and incredibly tasty. I can highly recommend the burritos!

I think the moment my seven-year-old stood up and announced “I love this place,” was the absolute highlight of the week.

That’s the moment I knew that this holiday will be treasured by my children forever, and I can’t ask for much more than that.

Bluestone, we will be back!
