Eating your placenta might not sound appealing, but many people do it for the health benefits, as it's said to be full of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin B6, B12 and iron. Some mums turned theirs into smoothies and others, including Kim Kardashian, had their placenta turned into pills.

But who are the other celebrity mums who have eaten their placenta?

1) Kourtney Kardashian

In the January following her daughter Reigns' birth, Kourtney Kardashian admitted to being a fan of the placenta pills and took to social media, sharing a snap of hers saying: "Yummy...PLACENTA pills! No joke...I will be sad when my placenta pills run out. They are life changing! #benefits#lookitup"

2) Hilary Duff

Rather than cooking or turning her placenta into pills, former Disney star Hilary Duff drank her placenta as a smoothie, stating: "the most delightful smoothie I've ever had" and has never felt better.

3) Mayim Bialik

The Big Bang Theory star has come under fire a lot for her parenting choices, and eating her own placenta was one of them.
She said in a very honest blogpost: "Human beings are the only mammals that have chosen to not routinely ingest their placenta, which is consumed by every other mammal for its protein and iron-rich properties that are critical in helping the mother’s body recuperate after giving birth. End of story."

4) Coleen Rooney

Following the birth of her son Cass, Coleen decided to turn her placenta into pills for second time, as she found it helped beat post-natal depression and give back natural hormones. But not only was she planning on eating the placenta, she also had it turned into baby massage oil, face cream and balm, to aid with its natural health benefits.

5) Kim Kardashian

Following in her sister Kourtney Kardashians footsteps, Kim tried the placenta supplements following the birth of her first two children North and Saint. Kim said that she felt no signs of post-natal depression and admitted to she had a "great result and felt so energised."

6) Alicia Silverstone

After having her own placenta gifted to her in the form of pills, Alicia Silverstone took the supplements as she believed there was no harm in trying them and said she loved them.

7) Gaby Hoffmann

Girls actress Gaby Hoffmann also went down a different route when it came to eating her placenta, and instead had it cut into 20 pieces and frozen, which she then turned into a smoothie every day for three weeks with some fruit. Gaby said that it gave her more energy and even helped to increase her milk supply.

8) Khloe Kardashian

It's no surprise that another Kardashian chose to eat her own placenta, following in the footsteps of her older sisters. She made the announcement on an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians while she was talking to sister, Kim, about her birth plans.

9) Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy Teigen has always been very open about her pregnancies and life as a mother, and after the birth of her first child Luna in 2016, she admitted to having post-natal depression. Following the birth of her son Miles, Chrissy said she didn't have post-natal depression and believes it is because she takes supplements that she had made from the placenta.
Chrissy also admitted that she regrets not doing this after her first pregnancy.

10) Tamera Mowry

The actress who is known alongside her identical twin Tia Mowry surprised fans following an episode of their reality TV show, where Tamera gave her twin her placenta to eat. Tamera mixed some of her placenta with brandy and gave it to twin Tia to try, who said it tasted "kind of good."

11) Natasha Hamilton

The former Atomic Kitten star had her placenta turned into pills following the birth of her fourth child and said that eating her daughters placenta has helped her "feel fantastic."

After admitting she felt more educated on motherhood the second time around, Blac Chyna said she had been reading on the benefits of eating your placenta after birth and admitted that 'it's a healthy thing to do'.

She hit the headlines after admitting to have eaten her placenta after the birth of her son Xander and even says the placenta capsules were the reason she beat the baby blues. January said she would recommend it to any pregnant women as it's not gross and said: "It’s a very civilised thing that can help women with depression or fatigue."

14) Stacy Keibler

Former wrestler Stacy Kiebler shared how she was trying to stay healthy throughout her pregnancy in 2014, which included eating her placenta as a pill after the birth. The actress only eats organic and clean food, and believes the pills will have health benefits.

The former playmate who also had a cameo appearence in Scary Movie 4 planned on turning her placenta into pills before her daughter rainbow was born. She said: "This might sound gross, but I'm totally planning on having my placenta turned into pills I can take after giving birth."

After struggling with post-natal depression following the birth of her second son in 2011, Danielle Lloyd revealed that she plans to eat her own placenta in hope it will stop her from getting post-natal depression after the birth of her fourth child.

Not long after giving birth to her fourth child, Rebekah Vardy revealed she had turned her placenta into pills in order to help her with recovery.

18) Rochelle Humes

Rochelle Humes divided fans after she shared an image on instagram of her dehydrated umbilical cord. Rochelle had her cord shaped into the word 'love' and then framed, after giving birth to her second child in March 2017. She also had her placenta turned into supplements as she believes the placenta contain health benefits for new mums.

The Towie star not only ate her placenta in the form of pills after the birth of her first-born daughter in 2017, but she also had it turned into face cream and balm.
