Mother and Baby's Editor-in-chief will be joined by business leaders, employment experts, and entrepreneurs – all sharing their parenting advice in interactive and lively debates.
Created in response to the demand parents have for practical back-to-work solutions or new business advice, the show which opens this Friday at the Excel in London will bring together a collection of experts discussing topics ranging from childcare to your post-baby career and managing your work and family life.
The Minister for Employment Relations and Consumer Affairs, Jenny Willott will be opening the show, followed by debates about topics including gender stereotypes in the workplace, roles and responsibilities in the 21st century and family life going digital. Our Editor-in-chief, Claire Irvin, will be talking about childminders – the benefits, costs and how to choose them.
Ben Black, who helped design the content for the Work and Family show says, ‘Due to the lack of support from employers on returning to work, women often feel forced to give up the careers they have trained so hard for in order to fit into their new role of motherhood.
‘However, it shouldn’t be like this. Businesses are missing a trick by failing to support their caring workforce – by offering flexible working and a more understanding ethos through the company, businesses can create a happier and more engaged workforce that will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the business in the long run.’
Tickets are available from www.theworkandfamilyshow.co.uk from just £12, and visitors that have paid to go to the Baby Show at the weekend as well will have free entrance.
