Amazon Prime Day 2020

Prime Day is coming and we’re keeping our eyes to the ground for the best deals for parents. It’s a bit (a lot) later than usual due to the pandemic – it’s usually in July, but now it’s been confirmed as October 13 and 14.

Plus, we’ve just discovered how you can save £10 on Prime Day.

Since the pandemic started, we’ve all be shopping smarter and smaller, supporting small businesses more than ever. And Amazon is keen to do the same – so, spend £10 with a selected small business, and you’ll receive a £10 discount to spend on Prime Day.

There are – surprisingly – loads of small businesses selling on Amazon, including handmade items and special innovation products that we’d never heard of. Simply head to this Amazon Small Business page and search through the different categories to find what's included in the offer.

We’ve searched the site and found some of the best small business items you could invest in today, and get a £10 discount for Prime Day:

Keep track of your little one’s ever-increasing height with this personalised chart, customised with their name. It’s full of fun, cheery characters that your child will love, and it’s a great keepsake to remind yourself in the future of how small they once were.

Personalising a book with their name is a great way to engage your child with stories and nursery rhymes; this lovely book is full of old favourite rhymes and poems, many with extra verses to incorporate your little one’s name. You can also add a personalised message at the start of the book too.

All children love a den, and this tepee affords your little one a hideaway to read books and play, whether you use it inside or outside (weather permitting!). Set it up and stage a fun camping session with your toddler in the lounge, without worrying about rain washing you away at night, or use it as a cosy place for storytime. It has a solid wood frame and 100% cotton fabric.

Sometimes the simplest toys are the best, so invest in spinning tops for your little one to enjoy learning about speed and gravity. They’re each handcrafted and unique, made from beech wood.

Speaking of simple, a good brick cart remains toddlers’ favourites for generations. They’re great when your little one is learning to take those first tentative steps, and once they’re confident, they’ll love moving their toys around the house this their cart. Or, if your little one is anything like my son, sit on the trolley and scoot around on it like a little car.

Plus, remember to sign up for Amazon Prime before the event itself, to make sure you’re able to take advantage of all the best deals. You can sign up for a free 30-day trial, after which it would cost £79 a year (or £7.99 a month).
