Ask Childs Farm's skincare expert: "How do I treat baby acne?"

Section: Baby care

Each month, Childs Farm's resident skincare expert will be tackling all your skincare concerns and giving you the correct know-how, to ensure the whole family has healthy and gorgeous-looking skin.

This month's instalment is exploring 'baby acne'. What is it, what to look out for and how best to treat it with dermatologist Dr Jennifer Crawley.

What is baby acne?

Baby acne is very common in new-borns and normally starts in their first few weeks of life and usually disappears by the age of 4 months old. Clinically what you will see are red spots on your baby’s chin, cheeks and nose.
