Tasty toddler meal ideas: Recipes that'll keep your little ones full and happy

toddler food ideas

When your baby gets to around 6 months old, milk might not seem to cut it anymore. This is the signal that it's time to start weaning. They're ready to dive headfirst into the wonderful world of food, and they'll need some tasty recipes to get them there.

The first step for a lot of parents is making purees. This is called spoon-fed weaning and you'll need to use a soft, silicone spoon to spoon-feed your baby blended fruit, vegetables and other foods. The best way to make a puree is with a top-notch blender, see our picks here.

Another approach is baby-led weaning, it's a messier alternative (they control where the food goes, and often it's not in their mouths...) that lets your baby play with their food and choose which bits to eat and when. There are plenty of amazing products out there to help with the mess of baby-led weaning, including this great suction bowl from bamboo bamboo.

The hope with baby-led weaning is that it gets them used to different textures and helps with fussiness. There are loads of great books on weaning, including social media favourites Annabel Karmel and Joe Wicks.

As your baby gets older, it can be tough to think of new toddler meals to try and we've all been there as you stare into the fridge, trying to decide what to make. To give you a helping hand, we've gathered together our favourite toddler meal ideas together and separated them into breakfast, lunch and dinner, with the aim of giving you some new inspiration when it comes to feeding your toddler.
