Did you know your skin naturally rejuvenates as you sleep? And using a night cream before you go to bed can actually help to enhance this process, soothing and moisturising your skin as well as targeting skin issues such as fine lines and textures.

So if you're looking to add a night cream into your skincare routine, we've rounded up the ones you should consider.

Combining two powerfull skin care ingredients: retinoid complex and Vitamin B3, Olay Regenerist Retinol Night Cream promises to hydrates your skin for 24 hours with visible improvements in fine lines and wrinkles. Free from artificial dyes, perfumes and oils, it's specifically designed for the time when skin is most receptive.

Review: "I don't know how to describe this cream. I've been suffering with a bad eye bag under my right eye (yes only one eye). Been trying cheaper creams but it was getting worse. I was getting obsessed with it and really self conscious as I do look young for my age and have felt very proud of that fact. I put this cream on last night and it is unbelievable. At least 80 percent improvement in one night."

This water gel moisturiser works overnight to leave your skin looking dewy and supple when you wake up. Dermatologist tested, it is designed to help reverse the fatigue cycle and strengthen your skin’s moisture barrier.

Review: "This is truly one of the nicest moisturisers I have ever tried! It's light but still packs plenty of moisture and the price point is brilliant. I usually use the cream gel of an evening as a night cream or when my skin feel like it needs so extra moisture."

Reducing the appearance of wrinkles and leaving your skin firm, this night cream contains the antioxidant Q10 which helps to rejuvenate your skin, protecting it from damage and slowing the ageing process

Review: "I love Nivea products and this cream is great. It is my go to night cream and have been using it for years. I love the smell and the texture and it leaves my skin moisturised and firm."

This delicately textured night cream has a delicious but gentle citrus scent and helps to provide moisture and vitality to your skin. The Vitamin C, works together with Tomato and Liquorice extracts to help your skin recover from the daytime ageing effects of the sun and the environment.

Review: "This is the first night cream I've tried that I feel is actually great for what I want. I needed something thick enough to feel that it is a night cream without being too heavy. It's a lovely consistency and dries really nicely. Not too thick or too thin and smells so lovely. It has not caused me to break out which is a first. Will be buying again."

Formulated to improve the appearance of skin suppleness, firmness and elasticity, this night cream is infused with nourishing and antioxidant-rich Sesame and Avocado Oils. It targets the signs of ageing to reveal a radiant, firmer-looking complexion when you wake.

Review: "I find this cream offers richness, without greasiness and in a cream that readily absorbs into the skin. You don’t need to use a lot and it leaves skin feeling supple and hydrated, nourished until it is washed off in the morning. It is one of the best night creams I have used and the fact that it comes in a tub rather than a tube makes it easy to get every bit out."

Containing poppy extract which revitalises and protects your skin to reduce signs of lack of sleep (a must for us mums!), this night cream promises to visibly diminish the first signs of ageing, restore radiance, hydrate and maintain younger looking skin.

Review: "I absolutely love this cream! It is quite pricey but it gives your skin such a nice glow the next day, it smells fantastic and doesn’t leave your skin oily."

Olay Total Effects Night Cream exfoliates to enhance your skin’s surface natural self-renewal process for healthier looking skin. Its non-greasy, fast absorbing formula will not clog the pores of your skin and aims to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, helps to restore firmness and brighten.

Review: "My mum has been using this for over 10 years and hasn’t switched to a different brand. The moisturiser is lightly scented and not too overpowering. The pump is good, no problems at all. I would recommend this moisturiser for people with normal skin and who are aged 35+."

Perfect for those of us with sensitive skin, this fragrance-free and hypoallergenic night cream from Burt's Bees contains rice extract to moisturise while aloe soothes.

Review: "I am not loyal to many products, but this is one I now stock up on. It is lovely and creamy, it doesn’t lather up. I just massage it into my face, it leaves your skin with a lovely fresh tingly feeling - then remove with a hot wash cloth. It removes all traces of make up and if you gently spread it over your eye lids and under your eyes in the morning wash, the lovely tingly feeling really wakes up your tired eyes. It has never stung my eyes. I suffer from SAD, so mornings can be particularly painful and this gives me a much needed wake up boost and reduces puffiness."
