Meghan Markle has always been high in our style estimations, but since announcing her pregnancy, she is positively glowing.
We look back at the mum-to-be’s hottest hairstyles, with tips on how to recreate the Duchess’ look at home from the experts at Rush Hair.
Curls and waves are a great style any time of the year and for any occasion. Whether you are going ‘out out’, heading somewhere casual or even just want to jazz up your look for spending time with friends.
1) Meghan's loose waves
To create Meghan’s waves, you’ll need large-barrelled heated wand or tongs. First, towel dry your wet hair and comb through. Then apply a styling spray – we recommend L’Oreal Professionnel’s Techni ART Pli Shaper Spray, which is heat-activated and locks in essential moisture. Once evenly applied, take small sections and blow-dry your hair to create volume and movement, lifting the hair at the root. When focusing on the top of your head, comb in a middle parting, and continue to blow-dry your hair.
Once finished, select small sections of the hair and wrap them vertically towards you, around the wand or tong and hold for 20 seconds. Repeat this until you have completed the process and using your fingers, tousle the waves and spray on L’Oreal Professionnel’s Beach Waves to hold the style in place.
To transform casual waves into something sleek and chic for the evening, create a side parting using a comb. You’ll find there will be less amount of hair on one side - tuck this side behind your ear and bring the hair around to the other side of your head, resting it over your shoulders.
2) Meghan's sleek side part
Hold in place with L’Oreal Techni ART Fix Design, spraying onto the hair at 15cm away from the head. This will secure your style, giving your hair a natural looking glossy shine. You can also use this on the sleeker parts of your hair that you’ve pulled around to keep the look secure and unable to move out of place. With this, your waves will have a natural sheen, maintaining a chic, fresh hold throughout the night.
This style looks great both sleek or as a messy, unkempt up do. Blow-dry your hair using small sections, and create volume by uplifting the hair at the roots then create a middle parting using a comb. Brush all your hair back with a paddle brush, and secure your low ponytail using a hair band, remembering to leave a small section of your hair aside. Twist your loose ponytail and wrap it around the hairband to create a sleek or messy bun, and secure in place using hair grips.
3) Meghan's easy up-do
Once you’re happy, wrap the strand of hair you left aside around your bun loosely and secure in place underneath your bun with a hair grip. To finish, you can either pull out some loose hair to frame the face for the more casual look or smooth the hair back for a sleeker look. Secure your chosen style in place with L’Oreal Techni ART Fixing Spray.
Being a mum gives you limited time to spend on your hair, so finding a look that is quick and easy, but also sleek and stylish is key. This style works best when your hair is straight, or even when it’s been unwashed for a few days!
4) Meghan's reinvented classic
Comb your hair back, keeping it as smooth as possible, and tie into a simple ponytail, in the middle of the head with a hair band. Using a small section of your ponytail hair, wrap it around your hair band and secure using a hair grip placed underneath the ponytail so it hides your hair band. Spray L’Oreal Techni ART Fixing Spray to smooth out any frizz, and enjoy a long lasting, sleek hold.
