US magazine names the mums in the spotlight who are most inspiring when it comes to balancing work and home life…
It’s hard not to be in awe of a supermum who can not only be a hands-on parent, but also manage to hold down a high-profile career in the media spotlight – especially when you barely find the time to wipe the stains off your top…
In honour of this, US parenting publication Working Mother Magazine today published their 50 Most Powerful Mums of 2014 list.
The magazine picked out everyone from A-list celebrities like Beyoncé and Cate Blanchett, to media moguls, businesswomen and authors, saying what they all have in common is their ability to ‘keep us striving for bigger and better’.
Some of out best-loved celebrity mums like Kim Kardashian (mother of baby North West, eight months), comedienne Tina Fey (mother to Alice, eight and Penelope, two) and fashion designer and mother-of-four Victoria Beckham were included in the exclusive list.
Women from the world of business, media and politics also made the top 50, including mother-of-two Donna Langley, CEO of Universal Pictures and Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer, who gave birth to her first child last year, and mum-of-two and Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins.
Jennifer Owens, editorial director of Working Mother Media, said, ‘The 2014 list of ‘Most Powerful Moms' is a formidable group of women who manage to balance high-octane careers with caring for their families.
'From tastemakers to titans, these moms are a thriving group of women who revel in the payoff of integrating their work and motherhood lives.'
