Dolly Parton is the next celeb to read a CBeebies bedtime story

Dolly Parton

Country music legend Dolly Parton is next in line to read a CBeebies bedtime story to our tots this October!

The ‘9 to 5’ singer will be reading ‘Dog Loves Books’, a story about a dog who loves books so much he opened his own bookshop, written and illustrated by Louise Yates. In the tale, no-one shows up to the opening, but Dog is never short of friends when he’s surrounded by books. When he gets his first customer, will Dog be ready.

The internationally renowned singer songwriter will read the story on Wednesday 25th October at 6.50pm.

Parton joins a growing list of celebs who have read a story for CBeebies, including Tom Hardy, Chris Evans, David Tennant and David Hasselhoff. When asked about the bedtime story, Dolly said: ‘It’s an honour to be reading for CBeebies Bedtime Stories as encouraging children to develop a love of books from an early age is very important to me. I hope my songs and stories inspire the CBeebies audience in the UK. Thank you for having me.’
