Here at Mother & Baby, like the rest of the world, we couldn’t be more excited about the arrival of royal baby number three! And it turns out Kate Middleton’s hyperemesis gravidarium (HG) wasn’t far from four-year-old Archie Weatherall’s mind when he met Prince William last week.
On a visit to a swimming pool in Wallesey, Mereyside, Prince William bent down to say hello to Archie, who gave him an avocado, wrapped in a pretty yellow bow. The Prince thanked him, saying ‘Oh, Archie, you’re too kind. I’ve never been given an avocado before. That’s really sweet of you. Catherine will love the avocado.’
According to Christina Lahive, headteacher of Riverside Primary School which Archie attends, Archie’s mother is also pregnant and suffers from HG. For a long time avocado has been hailed as a natural remedy to morning sickness, so hopefully this thoughtful gift will help the Duchess of Cambridge.
