Davina McCall's fitness tip for new mums is actually genius

Davina McCall

Davina McCall is just as famous for her post-three-children-six-pack as her successful Big Brother presenting career and her grilling interviewing style.

Case in point:

Despite juggling a family, a glittering telly career, a multitude of fitness DVDS, being the face of Garnier and having (almost) enough time to sit down for a cuppa - Davina McCall is proudly in 'the best shape of her life'. The 50-year-old looks utterly sensational. Er, any tips would be amazing, Davina...

Speaking on Giovanna Fletcher's Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast, the mum-of-three admitted she hasn't always found working out easy.

"I'm not a naturally sporty person!' she laughed, "I was always picked last for sports teams in school.'

Then Davina gave some shiny pearls of wisdom around finding the time to exercise when you are a new mum.

"When you've got a new baby you don't really want to exercise."

"One of the things that I've done in the past is wake up in the morning and just get straight into the work out gear."

"When you've got a new baby, they might not have a sleep pattern down or anything and it might be a few months in and you still have no idea when they're going to kip (this is why I made work out DVDs and this is why they're really short!) You've got ten minutes, you're already in your workout gear! Get in that living room and just give yourself ten minutes because at the end of it you'll feel like you've done something for you and with a new baby you're always 17th on the pecking order!"

"I know I say this a lot, but I've never regretted a work out!"

Davina is proud mum to three children Holly, 16, Tilly, 14, and Chester, 11. During the podcast, she also urged mums all over to remember how important exercise is for your mental health.

" can be a very lonely place and I felt very isolated. I felt completely alone and unfortunately, I didn't join any NCT groups."

"I didn't wear makeup, I didn't do my nails, I didn't wax anything, i didn't look after myself at all, because I had a baby to look after and that was the most important thing to me!"

Remember to schedule in some me-time when you can, mums! Even if it is some quick burpees followed by a cuppa, when your little one finally nods off...
