It’s not everyday you become a new mum – and grandmother – within the space of a month, but that is exactly what happened when Jade Jagger, 42, and her eldest daughter Assisi Jackson, 22, got pregnant at the same time.
Assisi Jackson gave birth to her first child, a baby girl named Ezra Key, 10 weeks ago – just 29 days before mum Jade welcomed her third child Ray Emmanuel Fillary.
‘It was quite peculiar that the pregnancies happened at the same time,’ Jade told Hello!
‘I can’t help but have a sense of humour about it. But becoming a grandmother doesn’t faze me or make me feel older. I don’t feel like a grandmother, because the babies are so close in age it almost feels like they are brother and sister. Its been really great. We’re lucky’.
Assisi added, ‘They’ll grow up more like siblings than uncle and niece.’
Jade also spoke about being at Assisi’s home water birth – two weeks before she herself went into labour.
‘Being at Assisi’s birth was a great refresher course in everything that was going to happen and how it was going to feel,’ Jade said. ‘It certainly opened my eyes to the idea of a water birth’.
