‘I’ve Been Lucky’: David Beckham Talks About Being A Stay-At-Home Dad

Section: Celebrity Mums

He’s had an international football career, but the role David Beckham’s most content with right now is being at home with his kids

Since hanging up his football boots earlier this year, 38-year-old dad of four David Beckham has revealed he loves being around more for Brooklyn, 14, Romeo, 11, Cruz, eight and little Harper, two.

‘I’ve been lucky, I’ve always been able to take the boys to school in the mornings and pick them up and make them dinner and things like that. So I do even more of that,’ he says on The Jonathan Ross Show, which airs this Saturday.

But the morning routine is still pretty hectic in the Beckham household. No surprise for any parents there, then.

‘I’m quite organised in a morning, I have my clothes ready, but Harper does exactly the same thing. She gets her outfit ready the night before, and then she gets up in the morning, we go down to get her ready and she changes her mind. So then, by this time, we’re in a rush,’ he explains.

‘The boys are arguing over what breakfast they want, and I’m trying to get them ready as well. But then I’m in the room with Harper trying to pick out outfits and anything which I pick out, which I think looks great, she puts back in. She’s two and a half.’

He also paid credit to wife Victoria, saying ‘She’s a great mother, of course, and she looks after the boys and Harper and that’s our priority and her priority, but she works really hard. She’s a hard working mother and the success that she’s had, she deserves.’

Watch David with Anchorman star Will Ferrell on The Jonathan Ross Show this Saturday December 14 on ITV1 at 10.05pm.
