Move over Gwyneth… Actress and businesswoman Jessica Alba is set to become one of Hollywood’s most successful entrepreneurs after her business, The Honest Company, was valued at $1bn.
The mum-of-two, 33, set up the company in 2012 with business partner Christopher Gavigan, the former CEO of Healthy Child Healthy World, and the pair’s business venture has become so successful, they’re set to float the company on the stock market.
The Sin City actress formed the company after trying out a mild, baby-friendly laundry detergent and broke out in a rash.

Concern for her family led her to set up The Honest Company, which now offers a vast range of baby products, household items and toiletries that are ‘unquestionably safe, eco-friendly, beautiful, convenient, and affordable.’
‘The most daring thing I ever did was take a step back from my acting career and start this company,’ she told Harper’s Bazaar.

‘After I turned 30, I became more daring as a woman,’ she added.
‘Having a successful company had a hand in that. I've set my priorities in a different place, with my children and my family. I dared to look at projects outside of Hollywood, and I'm so happy that I did.’

Clearly it was risk that paid off big time. Judging by the company’s success, it looks like mumpreneur and her honest products are going to be here to stay.
