‘My Waters Broke During Dinner With McBusted’: Giovanna Fletcher Shares Her Labour Details

Section: Celebrity Mums

The wife of McFly’s Tom Fletcher reveals her waters broke in a rather unusual place…

It’s one of the biggest signs your labour is starting and, whether your waters break in a trickle or a gush dramatic enough for any soap opera birth, chances are you won’t forget when and where it happened.

Something Giovanna Fletcher knows all too well.

The new mum and author, 29, has revealed she was out with her husband and friends when her waters broke.

‘We were out for dinner with all the McBusted family (celebrating Danny’s birthday) when my waters broke – so I’m pretty certain Buzz just wanted to be part of the fun,’ Giovanna writes in her latest column for Hello!.

‘I can’t tell you how giddy we all were when we left our friends in the restaurant knowing that the next time we’d see them we’d have a child.’

Giovanna, who is married to McFly singer Tom Fletcher, gave birth to baby Buzz Michelangelo in the middle of March.

She shares her birth experience on the blog, explaining that she managed to use the hypnobirthing techniques she planned – and also that she has a pretty helpful support network throughout.

‘I was calm enough to allow my body to produce a whole heap of oxytocin and endorphins with the help of some Michael McIntyre standup, singing along to Coldplay albums and my wonderful husband Tom,’ she writes.

‘He was as encouraging as I knew he would be – stuffing jelly babies into our mouths, rubbing my back and reminding me to breathe anytime a frown appeared on my brow.’

Clearly loving life with their son, the couple have been responsible for some of the cutest new parenthood photos, not to mention a certain video that everyone adores – even Russell Crowe’s said to be a fan.
