The former glamour model opens up about her shock pregnancy after being told she wouldn’t conceive again
There are definite plus points of having a small gap between kids (similar-age play mates, getting the nappy years in one neat stretch…). Something Jennifer Ellison is about to experience.
The former glamour model and mum of two, 31, has revealed she’s pregnant – just as her little boy Harry turns one.
Jennifer suffers from ovarian cysts and was told she wouldn’t be able to conceive again, so finding out she’s expecting came as a complete shock to her and husband Rob.
‘I’ve never really had regular periods because I don’t ovulate, but I knew I’d missed a couple and I had a swollen tummy so I did two pregnancy tests with Rob and they were negative,’ she tells the new OK! magazine, on sale today.
Jennifer was told she wouldn’t be able to conceive again, so finding out she’s expecting came as a complete shock
‘I went to hospital to have the cysts scanned and they found a baby! You don’t think you have to be super careful with contraception when you’re told you can’t conceive.’
She’s due in September and – now the shock’s subsided – is about to celebrate with a gender reveal baby shower.
‘It’s where you cut into a cake and the sponge will either be pink or blue, and that’s how you find out the sex,’ she explains. ‘At my last scan, we got a card with the sex written on it, which I passed to my best friend to make the cake.’
And she’s ready to add to her brood of boys, which also includes eldest son four year old Bobby.
‘I can’t picture myself with a girl,’ she says. ‘Plus, Harry and this baby will be so close in age, it would be nice if it’s another boy.’
With summer just around the corner and the beach calling your name, it’s time to stock up on those warm weather essentials to ensure you have everything you and your baby could possibly need whilst away from home.
