Actress Tori Spelling may be a mum of four, but that doesn’t stop her worrying about her brood – particularly her youngest son
Tori Spelling has opened up about the birth of her youngest child and why it’s made her protective of him.
The US actress, 40, spoke to PEOPLE magazine about the psychological effects of her pregnancy with son Finn, now 18 months. The mum of four experienced placenta previa and underwent emergency surgery after Finn’s birth due to C-section complications – an experience that she and her actor husband Dean McDermott, 47, think has made her far more protective of Finn than her other kids.
'I’m actually more protective of Finn than I was of the other three, I think because of what Finn and I went through medically'
‘Dean says I’m actually more protective of Finn than I was of the other three,’ says Tori. ‘I think because of what Finn and I went through medically — it was a rough pregnancy — I may not consciously know it, but at home I’m usually behind him going, “Wha! Wha! Wha!”.’
Tori describes Finn as the ‘little bruiser’ of her family, which also includes Liam, six, Stella Doreen, five, and Margaret, two.
‘Liam was a super mellow baby and with Finn, if you turn around for one second, his finger is in the socket and he’s pulling the blinds around himself,’ says Tori. ‘He is that kid.’
And being a mum of four is no easy feat. Unsurprisingly, the former Beverly Hills 90210 actress’ sleep schedule is all over the place.
‘It’s really difficult right now,’ says Tori. ‘The babies are only 10 months apart, and they’re both still waking up at night. We’re up during the night. We have different sleeping schedules.’
But Tori’s lack of sleep doesn’t stop her loving life as a mum. ‘It’s really tough right now, but I love every second of it,’ she says. ‘Maybe if I’m lucky, one night a week, I get to watch some TV.’ Life as a mum, eh Tori?
