It’s one thing having a supportive partner while you’re pregnant – but another to have him go through pretty much the same symptoms as you.
That’s what Charlotte Allsopp was faced with when her fiancée Harry Ashby began struggling with sickness, cravings, weight gain and even developing breasts.

The security guard was diagnosed with Couvade syndrome – where men display similar pregnancy signs – and was given time off work because of his nausea.

‘I’d ring asking Charlotte what she was having for lunch. She’d say salt and vinegar crisps, and I’d be eating them at the same time – I normally hate them,’ Harry tells The Sun.

Couvade syndrome, or sympathetic pregnancy, is thought to be psychosomatic by some experts, while others reckon it has biological causes linked to hormone changes.

Either way, just don’t let him nick all those crisps…
