Celebrity mums who have shared their water birth experience

Water birthsare becoming increasingly common, with most birth centres having their own birthing pool.

In fact, almost one in five women spend time in water during labour - whether that be a bath, shower or birth pool - and 10 percent of UK babies are born underwater.

Similarly, plenty of celebrity mums are opting for a birth pool when delivering their bundle of joy.

From Jacqueline Jossa to Samantha Faiers, here are the famous mamas who have had a water birth...

M&B columnist Louise Pentland gave birth to her second daughter Pearl Pentland via water birth.

"It was just a different experience" she told her YouTube fans, "It was calm and peaceful and relaxing".

British food blogger Eleanor Laura Davan Mills gave birth to her daughter Skye Tessa Camilla Davan Mills via a water pool at home after being sent Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth.

In a lenghty Instagram caption, she told her followers "The birth was intense, it’s certainly a physical experience, and I’ve never felt more powerful. I went totally into my own space during the birth, focusing on every sensation and visualising what was happening during it, thinking of each one as a wave".

Television and radio presenter Fearne Cotton gave birth to her daughter Honey Krissy back in 2015 and used hypno birthing alongside her water birth.

She announced her birthing delivery via Facebook, telling her fans "Having a natural pain relief free birth was the most intense and euphoric experience ever. Obviously there is no right or wrong birth and they can be magical in many ways I just feel blessed to have had this experience thanks to hypno birthing".

Former Eastenders star Jacqueline Jossa had her first daughter Ella via a birthing pool in the hospital.

In a joint interview with boyfriend Dan Osbourne, she said "Having a water birth was amazing. I can't imagine not having it. I don't know how people can have a baby on a bed. I don't see how that works gravity-wise".

"I had a home water birth, it was such a lovely experience. ☺️ We are so in love with you".

American actress Hilary Duff releaved that she welcomed her second child Banks via a "rewarding" water birth.

To mark five months post birth, Hilary shared an intimate video on Instagram of her in the pool, captioning it "it was so absolutely lovely and rewarding(and shocking) that after giving birth to my baby girl we hugged ...for the first time".

British singer and model Myleene Klass revealed to Hello Magazine that she "lost five hours of her life" during her water birth experience.

"My waters broke and I was in the birthing pool. We had a really easy first three hours, to the point that I thought we would all be home by 7pm. But I don’t remember what happened next. I lost five hours of my life and it was a pretty complicated birth in the end".

Eastenders star Lacey Turner recently opened up about her 'amazing' water birth with first child Dusty.

In an interview with OK! Magazine, Lacey said "My mum and Matt were both there and they were so supportive. My mum had a water birth when she had my 17-year-old sister and I watched her give birth, so it was nice for her to see the same thing. I had the most amazing birth and I feel lucky to be able to say that".

In an Instagram post that has been liked over 800,000 times, Harry shared with his fans that Kate had "the most amazing water birth with no pain relief at all".
