The Casualplay Q Retraktor Fix is a solid car seat. It sits nice and high, which is great for tots who like a window view, and is comfortable.
The seat is heavy and not easily transferable. It’s difficult to fit, even with the ISOFIX – because you can’t find the manual, perhaps? In which case; before you phone the supplier demanding that the ‘missing’ instruction leaflet be couriered to your door (with bells, whistles and sugar on top), the instructions are hidden in the pocket of the chair. Spread the word because it’s not that obvious!
The retracting seatbelt, one of the seat’s primary features, is a good idea in theory but practically speaking not entirely user-friendly. Keeping the correct tension in the straps whilst putting a gyrating toddler into the chair is no mean feat and the seatbelt also seems to have too much ‘give’, which allows little ones to wriggle their arms out. The retracting functionality should be secure but doesn’t really invoke much confidence.
The ‘quick release’ is a nifty feature, allowing the seat to be removed quickly and easily but overall a pretty average car seat.
