The Maxi-Cosi 2wayPearl car seat is a toddler car seat which offers state-of-the-art safety performance and extended rearward facing travel from birth up to approx. 4 years.

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

My daughter felt much more secure in this seat than any other seat we have used previously, I was happier with the position of her head and felt if something were to happen her head wouldn’t move around as much as other car seats. The ease of switching the car seat between forward facing and rear facing is very simple. In black, the design is simple and would fit with all interiors.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

The ability to switch positions is easier and would save time when needing to do this quickly with older children around!

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

My daughter, at 18 months, seemed to fill the Maxi-Cosi 2wayPearl Car Seat. Without testing I wouldn’t be confident it would be a comfortable fit up to 4 years. (She’s not an overly big child either!)

I found this Maxi-Cosi 2wayPearl Car Seat extremely easy to use and would recommend to any mum! The product itself feels much lighter and less ‘chunky’ in comparison to other brands - making it very easy to transfer between vehicles for when the little one might be staying with Grandparents! The recline on the seat made for a great journey for my daughter – I felt this made it safer knowing that she was laid back rather than her head continuously falling forward as happens in other car seats I have used. The seat is padded and my daughter always seems like she is happy and cosy in this seat.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

I have previously used car seats that are designed with a system whereby you need to feed through the seat belt – this can be very difficult and has often left me worried about how secure the car seat is and whether I have done it correctly. The Maxi-Cosi 2wayPearl Car Seat is designed with a simple ISOFIX base with a car seat that indicates clearly whether it is locked in correctly – you are soon aware if it is incorrect as the noise and clear lighting system on the base indicates this to you – making life easier for me knowing my little one is safe in the car.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

Personally I wouldn’t make any changes to this car seat. It is safe, durable, easy to use – an all-round great product! The value of this seat may seem fairly expensive, however, the car seat can be used until the child is 4 and Maxi Cosi have, in my opinion, designed a great car seat with both parent and child in mind.

It has the flexibility to be rear or front facing, which gives greater peace of mind in light of the new legislation regarding rear facing for longer. It uses the ISOFIX base (2way fix) which can be used for the first stage car seat, Pebble, therefore making it a more cost effective option. Using the ISOFIX base also increases the safety of the seat. (Also highly rated on Which)

It's easy to install the car seat and offers a recline position which is a great advantage for when the child sleeps in the car. The seat reclines very easily with one lever.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

The ability to swivel the Maxi-Cosi 2wayPearl Car Seat to the side would help make access easier when putting the child in and out, and ensuring the harness is as tight as possible.

It’s very simple to install – I did it without even opening the instruction booklet. The two-way facing options means it is flexible and will comply with the law if and when it changes in line with the EU, so it’s future-proof. The padding is gorgeous – very soft, which would definitely appeal to some mums I know.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

The five point harness that both lifts up and forward out of the way of my little one’s bum make it easy when popping her into the seat. No more scrabbling away underneath her looking for the straps!  The ISOFIX base makes it easy to swap the seat between the front and back-facing options, and the green lights letting you know that the seat is properly installed are reassuring.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

The ISOFIX base felt a bit wobbly when fitted, though it was properly secured so I don’t think it would affect safety. But I would prefer a more stable fit to make the seat ‘feel’ safer. Instructions on how to remove the ISOFIX base would also be useful.
