A budget model that has no seat recline and little padding. At under £50, it’s ideal for occasional use and does have some good features like a five point harness and side impact protection.
The Malmo is a simple and easy to use seat that is good value, but it feels basic and wobbly. It’s quite difficult to fit and it’s also not particularly comfortable for long journeys – our testers reported that they could feel the plastic ridges through the foam seat as it doesn’t have much padding.
The seat doesn’t recline either, so it’s difficult for your child to have naps on the go. Light and easy to transfer between cars its convenient, especially as the seat cover is washable. There are good features like side impact protection, a five-point harness and height adjustable head support. The harness features a quick-release buckle and has chest and buckle pads for comfort.
Our testers weren’t 100% confident about the seat’s safety, however, and thought it would be better as a second seat for keeping at the grandparents or for a childminder.
