If you’re looking for a the best car seat that’s good value, a dream to install, seriously comfy – yet doesn’t compromise on safety features or style – this is it. Our testers agree this feels really sturdy and secure. It could do with a deeper recline for naps, but that’s a low priority in a seat that can be used up to age 12.

Tested by mum Holly and Toby, 9 months:

This is really lightweight and easy to install – I think it would be the ideal choice if you need a toddler car seat that you can easily swap between different vehicles. Toby seems quite comfortable in it – I particularly like that his head doesn’t flop forwards if he falls asleep in the car. The harness is easy to fasten and the straps don’t get tangled up.

Tested by mum Sarah and Gabriel, 19 months:

Gabe seemed very comfortable and slept well on a long journey. It’s good value – the best budget buy. The only downside is that the recline needs to be engaged before you install the seat and isn’t easily adjusted with a child in place. That said, it’s not a huge recline, so I’m happy to leave the seat permanently in the recline position.

Tested by mum Amy and Scarlett, 3 years:

This was so easy to install and it looks really stylish. The seat feels very safe and secure once it’s in place – that’s not always the case when you’re securing a seat with the seat belt in the car. Comfort is a massive factor and this one really stands out for that – the foam padding makes this extra soft, and it offers just the right amount of support.
