At a glance:

These pouches are not only incredible value for money, they are super convenient for on-the-go meals. With a range of food groups in each different pouch, and a long sell by date to make buying in bulk easier, these little pouches are a game-changer!

What they say:

“From 4 months + , 100% organic. No added sugar (contains naturally occurring sugars only). No added water or thickeners. No artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.”

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this product to another parent because the pouches are fantastic value for money in comparison to others on the market. There are a selection of flavours available and although my baby ate them all, he definitely had a preference for two of them. I like the fact that this product contains yoghurt, fruit and rice therefore I feel like I’m giving him a more balanced meal. The pouches are convenient to keep to hand in the cupboard and can be used up to 48 hours after opening if refrigerated, which helps minimise waste. The ingredients are organic and there is no added sugar, which is really important to me and something I always look for when shopping.

How did this product make your life easier?

We began weaning a month ago and I have found this product really useful to add variety to my baby’s diet and to have something quick and easy when there wasn’t much time. The pouch means food can be served with minimal mess. It can be served directly from the pouch, but we usually squirted onto a spoon as we want our son to master the skill of using cutlery. The pouch can also be refrigerated and used up to 48 hours later which I thought was great, as some pouches are only recommended for use up to 24 hours later. It’s also good to know my baby is getting a range of food groups in one meal.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose this product because of the price. I think they are fantastic value for money- particularly in the early days of weaning when a full pouch is not always eaten. I also love the fact that they are 100% organic with no added sugar, water or thickeners. They are easy to purchase as there are several Aldi supermarkets in our area, therefore I wouldn’t have to go out of my way to buy them. I also like the fact that I can expose my baby to lots of different flavours. I also really appreciate the fact that it’s not just a pouch of fruit, or yoghurt or rice – it’s all three!

What changes would you make to this product?

I hate wasting food therefore I think it would be good if the pouches were a little bit smaller. In the very early days of weaning I used one pouch for three meals before having to dispose of it and there’s still plenty left in the packet. I appreciate this probably won’t be the case once my baby is eating more and at the price that they are, I don’t feel like I’m wasting money by not using a full pouch, however I do feel guilty throwing away food. I also think the packaging could be improved slightly – I really like the pastel colours used but I don’t like the drawings so much.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would definitely recommend this food to other mums. The pouches are so easy to just pop into a changing bag or handbag, and they make feeding baby on the go so convenient. The food is a reasonable price too, as some baby food can be quite expensive, so I think these pouches are pretty good value for money. There are a variety of flavours, so baby doesn't have to have the same thing over and over again which is great when you first start weaning.

How did this product make your life easier?

These pouches are very easy and convenient to carry about in the changing bag, or just use at home – they are SO much better than carrying bulky jars around! There's no need to prepare anything and they make feeding baby so quick and simple, thanks to the ease of the pouches and the fact that baby can be fed straight from the pouch or by pouring the food directly onto a spoon, so there's no need to take a bowls out and about.

My son can be very fussy with baby food and will only eat certain types and certain flavours. However, he loves this food and was opening his mouth for more every time he finished a mouthful! I was very surprised as it's usually quite hard to find baby food that he will eat and enjoy, so I would definitely choose this product again.

What changes would you make to this product?

I don't think there's really anything that I would choose to change about this product as I'm very pleased with the ease and convenience of using the pouches, especially when feeding my son whilst on the go. I'm also very pleased with the quality of them – thank you Aldi!

Would you recommend this to other mums?

The value for money of these pouches is really excellent and the fact that they can be stored in the fridge, after opening, for 48 hours means that you can really experiment with different flavours for your little one over the course of a few days without any wastage. The pouches are really easy to open and reseal, and the dispensing spout is easy to keep clean.  The three flavours I tried have all been well received by my baby, and the fact that the range is organic gives extra peace of mind that she is getting a good start to her weaning.

How did this product make your life easier?

The pouches are very convenient and are really easy to use by either decanting into a pot, or feeding directly from the pouch by squeezing onto a baby spoon. The fact that these pouches can be stored in the fridge for 48 hours after opening, compared to many others which have to be used within 24 hours, really minimises wastage. The flavours were all really popular with my little one and the texture and consistency is perfect for the first weaning stage.

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes I would like to see this product win a Mother & Baby award, as they offers excellent value for money, especially considering it is an organic range.  All of the flavours have been well thought-out and were equally popular with my baby.  The texture and consistency of this range is absolutely spot on for the six month old weaning stage, being totally smooth and lump-free. Top marks for an affordable and well-received product!

What changes would you make to this product?

The only thing that I can think of that would improve the range would be for it to be packaged in a format where it could be gently warmed through in the microwave when out and about.  My baby did like it straight from the pouch, but preferred it slightly warm, and heating the pouches in hot water really wasn't very effective as raising the contents' temperature.

If you are like me, a full time working mummy, or if you are away from home with your little one, these were really handy to take away with you. The pouches are easy and small enough to transport as opposed to a jar. Compared to other brands on the market, these are very economical with the same great taste as some of the bigger more well known brands. It's also good to know that the product is organic as it's critically important to me to make sure my life little boy eats good, healthy food.

How did this product make your life easier?

Being a busy working mum of a ten-month-old little boy, means that the mornings can sometime be manic when getting myself and my little one ready for the day ahead. These pouches mean that I didn't have to think too hard about a delicious healthy breakfast for my little boy. It was quick and easy to use and my little one seemed to really enjoy the flavours.

Would you choose this product to win?

If I regularly shopped at Aldi, I would definitely buy these all the time for my little boy. He seemed to really enjoy all the flavours he tried and ate them in super quick time. For me, this product is good but doesn't really stand out from other brands as being different enough and for me personally, although it’s a good product and comparable to others on the market, it would not be enough to encourage me to shop in Aldi.

What changes would you make to this product?

I think it would be good to know if the product counts as one of a babies five a day. Also it would be good to have a wider range of flavours to offer my little boy. In comparison to other brands on the baby pouches market, the design doesn't really stand out. I found the colours of the packets were less colourful on the shelf and this is something that would make a difference.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend the pouches to other mums because they are a convenient way to provide baby with breakfast, which is great for busy mums on the go. There are no hidden ingredients and they all contain different fruits which is great when you have just started weaning and want to introduce baby to different tastes and flavours. They are also brilliant value for money.

How did this product make your life easier?

The Mamia breakfast pouches are great as a quick and convenient breakfast for baby, especially when you have just started weaning. They contain everything baby needs for breakfast in an easy to use pouch. They are particularly good when away or travelling, as an easy breakfast or snack, when there might not be other appropriate food available.

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes I would – these pouches are great value for money compared to similar products on the market. The quality is good, with organic fruits and yogurt, and no unnatural ingredients.

What changes would you make to this product?

The only thing that I would possibly improve is to increase the range of flavours available. I think it might reach a point when parents are keen to try other flavours or combinations instead of giving their baby the same thing each day. However, as occasional breakfasts when time is tight, these pouches work well.
