At a glance:

Lansinoh’s 2-in-1 Electric Breast Pump is the ultimate choice for women who want both comfort and flexibility when they are expressing their breast milk as the lightweight design means it can be used as either a single or double electric breast pump.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Claire: The pump is easy to use at home as it can be plugged into the mains. However, I also like that it is battery operated and fairly compact so it can travel easily. The pump is very easy to use and also easy to clean as the milk doesn't enter any small tubing parts. The pump does make some noise (as no electric pump can be silent) although it is not any noisier than other brands I have used.

Nadia: This product was a joy to use. Having struggled with another brand of breast pump I resigned myself to the fact that pumping wasn't for me. The first time I used this pump I was sceptical, however, I was very happy to be proven wrong. The pump was gentle and I expressed more than I ever have before! Later that evening my husband was able to breastfeed the baby and she instantly accepted the bottle. A huge success. It was easy to transport, sterilise, set up and use within 30 minutes of opening the box and reading the instructions.

Tasneem: I would recommend this product to a fellow mum as I believe it makes life a lot easier. The electric pump removes the extra work that you would have to put in and you can sit back and just let the machine do the work. I love the fact that it is a double pump as it helps get more milk in one session. For mothers that are exclusively pumping, I can see this pump being a great help.

How did this product make your life easier?

Charlotte: This product makes my life easier as it is battery and mains operated, meaning I can pump wherever. Previous pumps I have used have been mains only, which makes it very difficult. The battery life is very good and I very much like the fact that you can choose whether to use the single or double pump feature. Because of the different suction and speed levels, it has meant I’ve been able to express more and more efficiently.

Caroline: I used this pump when I had to do KIT days at work. My son is allergic to dairy so breast milk from a bottle was the only option. Because of the pump’s features and functionalities, I was able to express milk quickly in the mornings straight into the bottle before leaving for work. Once at work, I could express easily throughout the day using the batteries. I could express 8oz’s in 15 mins because it is a dual pump. This meant there was no disruption to the working day. This breast pump made my life as a working mum easier.

Rachel: This product makes pumping less of a chore knowing it’s going to be comfortable, effective and isn’t going to take a long time to set up and get going. The fact the bottles you express into can then be used to feed the baby is really helpful, especially if you are just expressing enough for one feed as they can be stored and ready to go.

Would you choose this product to win?

Hannah: The Lansinoh 2in1 Double Electric Breast Pump is a high-quality product and you can feel the quality and comfort when using. I enjoyed the ease of using this product from the easy to follow instructions to a simple control panel making the product very user-friendly.

Elaine: Yes. This is the most efficient pump I've ever used. Once I mastered the balancing act of having the two pumps working together it has been invaluable. It's easy to use, comfortable, and the two phases (to mimic let down/feeding) made expressing so easy. I was amazed how quickly I could get 6oz expressed, much faster than with any other pump I've ever used. I was a little daunted initially but it's so easy to assemble and use. It's easily cleaned and stored. Plus it's quiet which is a bonus for when pumping out and about.

Lianne: Although this product isn't cheap, I do think it is value for money when I compare it to others that I've used. There are many similar products on the market and I was pleased to be asked to test such a trusted brand - it didn't disappoint. It is easy to put together following the instructions. It does make a bit of noise, as expected but nowhere near as loud as some pumps. The different pumping modes are great and the explanations of each stage/mode are great. Overall a great product.

What changes would you make to this product?

Stacey: Overall I think this pump is great! The only thing I would change is that when the pump is on the highest setting, it is quite noisy. This is only a minor thing though and isn't enough to put me off the pump. I could see the price putting some people off but I think it is worth the money - it is a must-have!

Claire: The only thing that may need to be considered is potentially offering different sized funnels to suit different sized breasts. Whilst the funnel fitted me well, I can imagine that women with particularly large or small breasts may struggle. Perhaps this could be offered as an additional purchase as buying a breast pump to suit your size of breasts would probably make it overly complicated!

Nadia: Overall I am very happy with this product. To make life easier, I think it would be better if there were improvements to the bag provided. It could be better quality as it is quite basic and I think for such expensive equipment it could be a bit more compartmentalised or have more internal pockets to add more structure to the bag. I also would also like to see the breastfeeding bra included- that would certainly be a bonus!
