At a glance:

Lansinoh’s HPA Lanolin has been developed for breastfeeding mothers to soothe and protect sore and cracked nipples. Sore nipples are very common during breastfeeding and can often be a result of the uncomfortable positioning of your baby at the breast. Whilst it is vital to address the root cause, Lansinoh’s HPA Lanolin is proven to help soothe and protect.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Natalie: The Lansinoh HPA lanolin cream is a fantastic product that I would, and indeed already have recommended wholeheartedly to friends. The packaging is simple, effective and the product is in a handy squeezy tube. I applied it to my nipples after each breastfeed and my discomfort was immediately reduced. This product really works. There is no need to wash it off before feeding as there is no smell or taste which makes it easy to use. I loved this product.

Alice: I would recommend this product to any new mum. Since using this regularly I have little to no pain when feeding or in between feeds. I can now enjoy the experience of breastfeeding my baby so much more than before. The consistency makes it easy to use and the tube is the right size to pop discreetly in your handbag.

Caroline: It's hugely important to me, as a mum, to use 100% natural ingredients in anything I put on my skin or consume when pregnant and breastfeeding. This applies even more so when the product will be ingested by my newborn. Lanolin is a naturally derived ingredient so it is one of the only products I would consider applying when breastfeeding.

How did this product make your life easier?

Esther: I liked that this product was a ‘Jack of all trades’, and could be used in many different ways. I found it very helpful that I didn’t need to worry about my son feeding after I’d used the cream. When breastfeeding on demand you never know for sure how soon they might want to feed again!

Laila: This product makes breastfeeding so much easier. It soothes cracked and sore nipples. You don’t have to rub it off before you feed the baby as it’s not got any nasties in it. So you can keep applying as much as you need and then put your baby on to feed. It’s very small so you can take it anywhere in your bag. It goes on easily and is an instant relief.

Lucy: This cream was a lifesaver for me in the early weeks of breastfeeding. My nipples were extremely sore and at times bleeding when I started feeding my son. Lansinoh really helped soothe and moisturise my nipples. Because of this, I felt able to continue and could see light at the end of the tunnel! As time has gone on I don't use it as much but I know if I have future problems I can use Lansinoh to help. It helps that my baby can feed without having to remove it as when my baby is hungry I would not want to delay feeding him!

Would you choose this product to win?

Vicki: I would choose Lansinoh above all other products. It was recommended to me by my anti-natal teacher with baby number one. Since then I have not stopped recommending it to other mums that want to breastfeed. I think it should win this category as it is hands down the best breastfeeding product available. I love this brand and the products are top quality.

Sonia: The Lanisoh nipple creams reputation precedes it. It came recommended by all my mum friends. A little cream goes a long way and the moisturising effects last for hours. The product is of a very high quality like all the other Lanisoh products. The products are slightly more expensive than others on the market but the quality is far superior.

Rachel: I wouldn't choose this product over all others on the market. The product works very well and I would consider Lanolin a "must-buy" when preparing for a new baby. However, I would choose the cheapest reputable brand available instead.

What changes would you make to this product?

Natalie: I think this is an excellent product and I find it difficult to suggest anything to improve upon. The packaging is simple but perhaps could be slightly more appealing. The consistency of the cream makes it a little hard to squeeze out in colder weather, so enlarging the hole may be beneficial. I think the quality of the product is well worth the price, but it is an expensive product so that is an area which could potentially be improved.

Alice: It would be great if this cream came in a big tube or pot to keep at home. The small tubes are perfect for your handbag when out and about but it would be good to be able to buy a bigger one if you wanted to. Other than that, this is a great product that I would highly recommend to all new mums!

Caroline: Whilst not important to the functionality of the product, the packaging/design could be updated to look a little more fun and contemporary and less like an old-fashioned, clinical product. It looks a little like it hasn't been redesigned since the 1970's! If you want people to be proud to take it out their handbags, I would recommend an update to the look and feel of the product.
