At a glance:

We love the No Harm Nipple Balm by My Expert Midwife! A lovely think consistency, the balm soaks in easily and heals sore skin without needing to spend ages rubbing it in. The smell is beautiful and the pump bottle is handy. The balm is 100% natural so doesn’t need to be wiped off before feeding – a huge plus!

What they say:

"Perfect for mum and baby, our midwife-developed nipple balm is 100% natural, made with exceptionally pure medical grade lanolin. With breastfeeding mums in mind, the one hand applicator makes applying the easy-glide balm hassle-free and there’s no need to remove before feeding. No Harm Nipple Balm is safe for use during pregnancy and beyond, as well as on your baby from day one to help reduce soreness, promote healing and repair cracked skin."

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would definitely recommend this product to other mums. It is the best nipple balm I have ever used. The design of the packaging is great, it has a handy bottle with a pump rather than being a regular tube. This makes the balm easy to get out, which is great when you are trying to use it with one hand, baby in the other!

How did this product make your life easier?

This is a fabulous nipple balm, it is smooth and has a great consistency. I’ve often found that other thicker products were quite painful to use, especially when my nipples were sore or cracked. This one is easy to apply and instantly soothes and repairs without any painful rubbing in.

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes, I think it should win as it is so different from the rest on the market. The packaging and accessibility is genius and the consistency of the balm is spot on. It is a great product and does exactly what it says on the tin. It smells good too!

What changes would you make to this product?

The only thing I would change about this product is the price. It's quite expensive for mums!

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this nipple cream to other mums without a doubt in my mind that they would love it! The consistency was much thinner than others I’ve seen, making it much easier to apply. Also, the container is really convenient because it's a good size and has a handy pump.

How did this product make your life easier?

This nipple cream is brilliant, I wish I had heard of it when I was just starting to breastfeed. My life easier because this product has a pump, so the cream is much easier to access!

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose this nipple balm over other products because it is so soothing and the packaging is practical. It is designed like a soap dispenser rather than in a tube, and this made such a difference to my life as I could use it with one hand.

What changes would you make to this product?

I think the product is a bit pricey for my liking!

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would definitely recommend this to fellow mummy friends. It is a container with an easy to use pump, which gives you a good-sized dose to use so you don't end up with excess still on your hands. The packaging is lovely and subtle, it is portable and fits in the changing bag.

How did this product make your life easier?

This nipple balm does make my life easier as you don’t need to wipe it off before feeding baby. He still latched on as normal and didn’t seem to notice the balm. I can feed him in normal time without faffing about wiping the cream off first!

Would you choose this product to win?

Purely for ease of use, yes. Also, it doesn’t have a weird smell like some others, meaning I would definitely buy it again! It leaves your nipples super soft.

What changes would you make to this product?

It is expensive! I think it should be cheaper, considering the bottle is not that big.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Yes, it works wonderfully! I would most certainly recommend it and will be gifting one to a friend with cracked nipples, as I am so impressed with the result. The product pumps out easily and applies smoothly.

How did this product make your life easier?

It has helped me continue with breastfeeding with pain-free nipples. It works very quickly to sooth the chapped skin and absorbs quickly without the need to rub it in firmly. It is also great that it doesn't need removing before a feed. No messing about finding a wipe when baby is hungry!

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes. I have used two other nipple creams since having my little boy and this one is a better-quality product. It is a lot more soothing and much easier to apply, without a sticky consistency.

What changes would you make to this product?

The price is quite high but I do think the product is high quality so it’s worth it!

Tested by mum Rachel Prosser for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this balm, based on the texture and the quality. I used the product on my cracked nipples and it healed them well, and it also worked on chapped lips. It doesn't need to be removed prior to feeding and is 100% natural, meaning there's no concern if baby ingests it. Additionally, it can be applied with one hand which is useful with a little person!

How did this product make your life easier?

The balm is quick and easy to use. It isn't sticky and a little goes a long way. Also, it’s in a small enough container to fit in a pram bag and the labelling is discreet. In terms of the quality, the balm really did what it said on the tin, it was so soothing!

Would you choose this product to win?

I haven't used any other nipple balms so I'm unable to make any direct comparisons, but the fact that this was designed by midwives makes it appeal to me more than other brands. It is good value for money and I can use it on my lips too, which I really appreciate!

What changes would you make to this product?

There should be more advertising for this balm as I had never heard of it before now. It’s great, will be telling all my friends!
