At a glance:

Our panel of mum testers loved the MAM Trainer Cup, with its eye-catching design, grippy handles, and non-spill teat. One standout feature is the measurements up the side of the cup, allowing you to keep track of your baby’s fluid intake throughout the day.

How did this product make your life easier?

Pamela: I love this product and it definitely makes life easier for me as a mum. I have bottle fed my daughter so this is a great trainer to go from feeding my daughter to allowing her to have some fun feeding herself and working it out in her own time. It’s nice seeing her explore the trainer cup and work it out.

Gina: It was a good product. However, it claims it is 94% accepted and my baby didn't want anything to do with any of the teats. The spout she did accept but wasn't very keen on it, and has others she preferred. She has so far refused most teats and bottles however and is now on a sippy cup. So this isn't just to do with this bottle. I was hoping for a miracle though. It is a good design, and very easy to put together and take apart. Very easy to clean.

Natalie: It's an attractive design. It comes with a handle that allows my little one to learn to hold it herself. It's easy to use and she learnt really quickly how to hold it herself and give herself a drink especially during warm weather. Once there more confident you can detach the handle which is good but she much prefers to hold it with the handle as it makes it easier to control.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Jasmine: The MAM products I have used in the past and this one are cost-effective, great designs and a range of colours. The handles are slim so my baby's little hands can grip it. It’s easy to transport, assemble and clean too. I have the pink one which is really cute, it’s maybe a little on the expensive side but then it’s good quality.

Karen: I think it’s a great concept and I can see how it should work. I genuinely like the idea but wonder if it is necessary? My wee boy is 9 months and is still not holding his baby cups so it may be that I was asked to test this when he was still a little young? I think the product is well-made but the handles which seem flimsy. I really dislike the design!

Sarah: I think this is a great product as the flexibility of the option to take the handle off and the choice of teats it comes with. It is a sturdy bottle but not too heavy for little hands to lift. The ease of sterilisation and cleaning is also a huge benefit as it is extremely easy to take apart whereas a number of starter cups I have could get quite dirty around the spout/filter and are hard to take apart. It is easy for my little boy to hold and he is only at the very first stages of using a training cup over a bottle. The design is also very attractive my two-year-old continuously picks it up and asks if it’s his bottle!

Would you choose this product to win?

Jade: This has been the best cup that I have found, it has great designs that catch the child’s attention plus it is so easy to clean! I also like the fact that the teat is super soft yet durable unlike most hardtop spouts, this is great for a teething child as there are no marks or holes left So if you want a strong sturdy cup then this is definitely the one to get.

Kirsty: This is a really good product and after trying a few different training cups, this one worked really well. It was well designed and a good size for my baby to hold. I think it is a really clever idea to have the bottle with interchangeable teats/spouts as this allows babies to progress from milk to water in a familiar way.

April: I've used a lot of training cups and beakers but I really do like this one as the spout is soft like a teat so that baby/toddler doesn't find the change to difficult, I like the colours and the different designs and I like the versatility of the training cup, and above all I liked how fast my son took to it.

What changes would you make to this product?

Victoria: If I could change one thing about this bottle it would be to have other colours such as yellow and purple designs available. I would also like the opportunity to be able to personalise the bottle as I think it would make a lovely gift to expecting mums. All in all I am very happy with this product and would recommend to other mums in a heartbeat!

Jasmine: I don’t think there is anything I would change, I don’t see that there is anything wrong with this product. My baby just doesn’t seem to want to drink anything that isn’t milk which is what I’d use this product for, it’s a great product that they should be proud of. All babies are different and pick up skills at different rates maybe if I had a few more months my baby might have taken to it and I could give a more full answer in respect of its usability.

Sarah: This is an amazing product and brilliant value for money. If I could change one thing it would be to potentially look into ways to stop it leaking through the teat if left on its side. I didn’t notice it quite as much with the 2nd teat (more bottle like teat) but with the more natural breast/bottle like teat it leaked a lot when my baby left it on its side on the floor. This would really help especially if the bottle was given to the baby in their cot at nap time or in the car. It definitely wouldn’t stop me buying it though.
