At a glance:

Go to a spa in the comfort of your own tub with this Pink Himalayan Salt Scrub. Our panel of mum testers loved the beautiful scent and how rejuvenated the felt after using this product, despite having a night of no sleep. This great product is shipped all the way from Australia, so can be tricky to find, but is definitely worth it.

What they say:

"Eco Tan by Sonya Driver: Organic Pink Himalayan Salt Scrub is an intensely exfoliating scrub that hydrates and smooths the skin. Give any rough patches some tough love! This scrub is designed to target stretch marks, dry flaky skin, cellulite and areas of pigmentation. The scrub is an absolute must-have to use before applying fake tan and is designed to be used on dry skin before showering or bathing, as this product is loaded with natural oils to nourish and pamper your skin."

Would you recommend this to other mums?

This product is a really lovely treat, I would say that the price point is a little luxury, which is not a bad thing when you’re a mum, but it is expensive. However, it’s worth it as it smells super fresh with lemongrass and coconut. It is quick and easy to use and I love that it is able to be used on face, hands and body.

How did this product make your life easier?

When I'm pregnant, I like to use natural products, rather than those with a strong perfume, so this product ticks all those boxes. This Pink Himalayan Salt Scrub takes care of me and really makes me feel confident.

Would you choose this product to win?

I have tried other similar products in the past but would rate this product highly as some exfoliators can seem very harsh and I wouldn't want to use them on my face as well as my body. I think that, as we see so much on the news about the harmfulness of plastic particles in beauty products, I feel confident that this is an ethical product.

What changes would you make to this product?

At a push, I would change the look of this product. It is a very competitive market and if I was browsing the shelves I don't know if I would choose this product purely on aesthetics. Looking at the price point, I think it could stand out more.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

The product feels nice when applied to the skin and rinses off easily. It's nice to have a product aimed at stretch marks which can be a sensitive issue post-pregnancy! But, it is an expensive purchase and I'm not convinced that most people would consider it value for money. A little bit of the product does go quite a long way, but the bottle is quite small for the price. I have only used it a few times and have not seen any visible difference in my skin so far.

How did this product make your life easier?

The salt scrub is a nice product for exfoliating skin and can be used easily before showering. I didn't use anything to apply the product other than my hands so it was quite quick to add in to my shower routine. Even though, as a new mum, finding an extra few minutes can be a challenge. I like that it targets stretch marks and dry skin, but I'm not sure that this is unique to this product.

Would you choose this product to win?

I think the price means that I might look at alternative products in this category - I would consider this to be quite a luxury purchase at the price and I would probably spend the money on other areas of my beauty regime. However, the fact that it's an all-natural product is reassuring and would make me consider this when comparing it to other products.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would either reduce the price, or increase the product size to make it better value for money as I think most new mums would be put off by the price. The packaging is pleasing and the information provided with the product was a nice touch, giving an insight into the background of the product.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this to a friend as a luxury treat, but not an everyday essential because of the cost and how small it is for the price. You don't get much for £20 and it's used up very quickly. As it is an expensive time with a new-born child, it isn't really purse friendly for most normal families. I think it would only be a treat.

How did this product make your life easier?

It is easy to use and helps with daily skincare and getting your confidence back as a mum, but it doesn't necessarily make life easier in any way. It made me make time for myself and I have baths every day, so I do make use of the product. The tube is easy to get scrub out of and water doesn’t leak in like some others.

Would you choose this product to win?

I wouldn't choose this over other products, purely due to cost and limited places where you can purchase it. I had to wait three weeks for it to be send from Australia for me to test it! It's a nice product but for the cost it doesn't look very luxury.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would change the cost and the size. The actual tube is fine but I'm not sure how they can justify £20 for such a small tube? It does what it says it will but it doesn't stand out from any other brands on the market. It would be much more accessible if you could buy it from high street retailers.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would definitely recommend this to other mum friends for a little treat without the impossible task of trying to arrange a trip to a spa. Life can be really hectic with children and this can turn five minutes in the bathroom into a rejuvenating break - my recommendation would be to combine it with a nice long bubble bath! The tube is a handy size and tightly sealed so can even be thrown in a bag to use elsewhere if you get the chance.

How did this product make your life easier?

As a new mum my skin was looking like I felt - old and tired! I hadn't had much 'me' time and was looking for a product that gave me a bit of luxury and pampering but could do it in a matter of minutes - it didn't disappoint. I spent a couple of minutes massaging it into my face and then after a rinse-off, my skin felt amazing. The tiny salt pieces dissolved when rinsing off so even in a rush, I wasn't left with gritty bits. My skin was no longer dry and flaky and felt very smooth and supple. It looked much better too!

The scrub smelt amazing and did a great job, it was like having a spa treatment in a fraction of the time. The best part of it was that every time I touched my face for the next few hours I got another whiff of the peppermint and lemongrass and it gave me another little boost of feeling pampered. The hydrated and smooth look to my skin lasted a few days. It felt much more luxurious than other scrub products I have tried. It had high quality ingredients and no nasty chemicals, a key factor for me given that my little one has just started to give me big 'kisses' on my face!

What changes would you make to this product?

This is an Australian product and is therefore expensive, due to the exchange rate. However, it is on a par with higher end facial beauty products over here so you could argue that it is reasonable for a product of this calibre. I wouldn't use it all over though, as it suggests, due to the cost. You get what you pay for and this certainly is a very good quality product, I'll be buying more of it to put into a new mum treat bag for a friend and also for myself.

Tested by mum Nikita Harrison the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

The product is a lovely scent and definitely has a ‘spa-esque’ quality to it in its texture. A downside of the product is the price. Although I loved it, I would find the cost difficult to justify as an everyday product, but I would buy it for my friends as a baby shower gift.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product smells so nice and is very relaxing. The scent brings to mind a relaxing spa in a nice hotel! It is lovely to use every day (even when you only have time for a five minute shower) as it's a nice bit of luxury in the day when you’re a busy mum.

Would you choose this product to win?

The actual salt scrub is very luxurious and is a lovely treat, but the small tube only lasted me three weeks, and it would definitely be quite expensive to buy this every three weeks! The key feature that makes this item stand out is the lovely refreshing smell - it really does make you feel rejuvenated and the salt scrub itself makes my skin feel really soft.

What changes would you make to this product?

Ideally the tube could do with being a slightly larger size, to accommodate a month’s worth of product. In terms of the scrub itself, I can't really fault it. It was a lovely scent and did make me feel refreshed in the mornings - something which I'm sure most mums would agree is a great feature when you've had very little sleep!
