Mother&Baby Awards
  • 2019 Silver Best New Mum/Maternity Skincare Product

At a glance:

With a luxurious blend of sweet Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, Vitamin A and E, this easily absorbed oil helps to reduce stretch marks forming. It boosts the elasticity of skin, leaving it soft, supple and instantly hydrated while being hypoallergenic.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Jade: Yes, yes, yes! The smell is incredible for starters. It's definitely not a cure for stretch marks but it helps to know that I'm doing all I can, with one of the nicest products on the market, to keep them in check as much as possible. It feels nice, applies well and doesn't leave you feeling greasy which is always a bonus! I've even been popping a bit in my bath if I know I don't have time to stand there and rub it in.

Rebecca: It smells absolutely divine. Easily the nicest smelling stretch mark oil I have tried. The essential oils mean that it has a delicate, natural smell that makes it really nice to apply. I am currently 36 weeks pregnant and so far don't have any stretch marks. It is still a bit early to tell if the product has fulfilled its primary function but that would seal the deal in terms of recommendations to other mums! It will be very good value for money if it does work.

Melanie: Yes absolutely. It smells lovely and is easy to apply. The oil isn't greasy and is quick to absorb into the skin. It makes the moisturising process quick and easy. I would recommend it based on the pleasant fragrance, the way it absorbs easily and the fact that it really lasts on the skin too. I don’t ever feel tight or itchy when I have used this product in the morning.

How did this product make your life easier?

Hazel: It doesn't necessarily make my life easier but it is quick and easy to apply. I like that I am doing what I can to minimise my chances of stretch marks. Hopefully, this will make me feel more confident in the long run. I can relax knowing I am doing what I can, which is half the battle.

Hannah: As this is a product designed for mums to be, it hasn't made my life easier. However, as a pregnant woman, I feel it is easy to use. When using the NSPA Stretch Mark Oil, you do not need to use a lot in order to get the coverage you need. It glides onto my bump easily. A little of the product goes a long way and this makes it good value for money.

Jasmeet: I find this product easier to use than others currently on the market. It is an oil so it glides on easily without much effort required. Time is of the essence as a busy mum of two and so anything that saves me time is a bonus.

Would you choose this product to win?

Alison: One of the benefits of this product is that it is hypoallergenic. During pregnancy, my skin became more sensitive but this product absorbed quickly into my skin making it feel soft and hydrated. The product smells beautiful and the Rosehip relaxes you whilst you are massaging it into your skin. The oil does not leave a greasy effect on your hands and body which is important. This product has changed the texture of my skin leaving it smooth to touch. It has calmed down the stretch marks that were developing and prevented any more.

Fiona: I think it should win. From my knowledge of other similar products on the market, I think that this product stands out. It is larger and better value for money than its direct competitors. It is also the only one I know of which has a fresh rose scent to it, This made it feel non-medicinal to apply and it has a lovely relaxing side-effect.

Jasmeet: I think it should win because it is easy to use in comparison to the other products on the market. The price is reasonable for what you get and the product makes you feel good after you have used it. It is not too greasy either as you might expect from it being an oil. This is a must for all mums.

What changes would you make to this product?

Jade: Quite honestly? Absolutely nothing. It's been a core part of my self-care routine since I received it. I've found this much nicer to put on than other oils and bump butters I've tried in the past. Along with all the other good things I have to say about this, it dispenses really well and a little goes a long way.

Melanie: I would change the design of the bottle to have a pump action dispenser. When I have oil in my hands I find it quite tricky to screw the lid back on without the oil running off my hands and on to the floor. A pump action dispenser would make it mess and hassle-free and dispensed more easily. I’m sure lots of other mums would appreciate this too!

Alison: I honestly would not change anything about the product. I have really enjoyed using this during my pregnancy. I found it really helped with my stretch marks by calming them down and smoothing them. I also have other scars on my body and have found that the oil has helped with their healing process too.
