At a glance:

The Expert Midwife Mum To Be Gift Set is the perfect choice if you’re looking for a pamper kit for yourself or a baby shower gift for someone you know. The Collection includes My Expert Midwife’s award-winning Spritz for Bits, No Harm Nipple Balm, Peri Prep your Bits and Fantastic Skin Elastic all tied up in a white cotton drawstring bag.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Carly: This little pack has everything you need pre and postnatal (including stuff you didn’t know you needed until you needed it!). It comes in a handy drawstring bag which fits perfectly in your hospital bag with room to spare for other toiletries that you want to take with you. It is mess-free and easy application during your time of need.

Hannah: I would definitely recommend this gift set to other mums. The products are light, non-greasy, are easy to take in your hospital bag and they provide everything you need for pregnancy and the early days after birth. I like the fact that all the products can be multi-use and they are friendly even on sensitive skin.

Jaspreet: I would recommend this product to all new mums. I think this is an excellent pack with four essential products for new mums. I found all the products very helpful and high quality.

How did this product make your life easier?

Liz: This gift set is a mix of very important lotions and potions that you just didn’t know you needed but couldn’t go without. The Peri Prep Your Bits was not the easiest to get my head around but I am glad I did! The Fantastic Skin Elastic was good for preventing stretch marks. The Spritz Your Bits felt totally amazing after labour. I’ve carried on using it to feel nice and fresh! The No Harm Nipple Balm was a life saver for a little baby with a bad latch! It is great you didn’t need to wipe it off before each feed.

Julia: The No Harm Nipple Balm is easy to use and compact so it fits in my travel bag easily. This means it is easy to use before and after feeds. It has a lid on the applicator to keep the product sanitary, which is important as it is a pumpable product. The Fantastic Skin Elastic doesn't stain clothes which makes life easier knowing it won't rub off on garments. The Spritz for Bitz is easily transportable and easy to use after a trip to the toilet to keep yourself nice, clean and fresh!

Helen: I thought this product addressed the key personal concerns of a mum-to-be. The Peri Prep oil for perineal massage (as recommended by NICE) was straightforward and easy to use. The Fantastic Skin Elastic is moisturising but absorbs well. It felt luxurious, helped stop my bump itching and kept my skin supple and soft. The Spritz for Bits is cooling and calming. It was great applied directly or onto to a maternity pad. The No Harm Nipple Balm is light and moisturising. It helped my sore nipples in those first few days post-delivery.

Would you choose this product to win?

Carly: I love these products and have enjoyed using them. You can tell they are good quality and they really do work. I wouldn’t buy them for myself as they are way out of my price range. For me they would have to go on a baby shower gift list, even then they are pricey for one person to gift to you.

Hannah: I hope this product wins because it has been the friendliest on my skin. It's gentle, smells good and is recommended by midwives which gives me reassurance. It's a handy pack and although it is a higher price range than others it's definitely a better quality product and worth every penny.

Jaspreet: I think this is an excellent pack with four essential products for new mums. I found all the products very helpful. The products are high quality, all the creams smell very nice and have a lovely feel to them. The packaging is attractive and I would recommend this product to all new mums.

What changes would you make to this product?

Liz: The bump cream could absorb a little faster. It wasn’t a deal breaker but I did have to make sure I had plenty of time to let it soak in before I got dressed. If the ingredients mean it has to be like that I could live with it as it’s clearly made a difference to my skin. I only gained one tiny stretch mark. During my other pregnancy, I did not use this and I got a lot.

Julia: If I could change one thing about this product it would be the size of the Fantastic Clean Elastic balm. There is simply not enough of it. I used the whole product within two weeks and I used stretch mark cream my entire pregnancy. If I was re-buying this balm every two weeks I would have to spend hundreds of pounds on just one product. Pregnant women are looking to be economical with their money as there is a lot to buy during pregnancy.

Helen: The bag it comes in is white cotton. I don't think this is a practical choice for four products which are designed to be quite oily and greasy. I would suggest a more luxurious and durable packaging. This would be more in keeping with the premium product as well as being a more practical choice.
