At a glance:

The Mum to Be Moisturising Bump Butter has a luxurious texture that moisturises and hydrates your bump. With a great consistency that makes getting dressed in the morning easier, the lovely subtle smell went down well with our panel of mum testers.

How did this product make your life easier?

Ruth: Every mummy wants that perfect snapback body and having a product that will prevent stretch marks or minimises it will definitely increase confidence before and after the baby is born. Feeling good is what every lady wants and to find a product that makes us feel good because it's making our body look good is definitely a must-have for every mum.

Constanze: I have been looking for a product I can use as an everyday product during my pregnancy to massage my bump and Mum To Be Moisturising Bump Butter is that. It’s very easy to apply, has a lovely smell and gets into the skin quickly. My partner uses it to massage my bump and he loves it as it’s less messy than the oils I have been using until now.

Fay: This product is very easy to use, due to the lid and it is in a tub rather than a tube. Once you have used your desired amount if you have excess left you can put it back into the tub so you have no wastage. It's very quick and easy to use especially as a mum to be and with three other children.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Hannah: I would definitely recommend the cream to my friends and family and clients at my salon. It is just so lovely, rich and creamy and the smell is absolutely devine. It feels like a very luxurious product actually and is a treat to put on. The tub is a nice size too and I think my friends and family would love it.

Gina: Not really. It is cheap and easy to use the product, and as mentioned above encouraged you to spend time bonding with bump prior to arrival. However, the design was boring and the product itself did not smell nice and did not have a nice texture. it's a nice concept and idea, but not executed well.

Farhat: I would recommend this as an easy to absorb into skin body butter, it also does not have a particularly strong scent and as mentioned above, is not too greasy and leaves your skin feeling smooth. You can get dressed immediately after applying and it will not transfer onto your clothes. If applied at night, when you shower the next morning you can still feel the moisturising effects on your bump. It is also relatively cheap price-wise.

Would you choose this product to win?

Stephanie: I think the product is great value for money, a lovely texture once applied to the skin and quick and easy to use. I really think that the value for money is the winner for me, it can feel like all mum to be products are very expensive and when on a budget knowing that there is a range available for a good price without sacrificing quality is great.

Helen: Some bump products are very oily and leave a greasy residue on clothes, but this product doesn’t rub off on your clothes which is a huge bonus. I am unclear how effective it is as it is essentially a moisturiser, but happy to use it and persevere. I have gained stretch marks despite using the product.

Ruth: First I love the value for money. Compared to the others you get a lot of the product for the price you pay. Who wouldn't want to save some extra cash? Also, I am a firm believer of shea butter and seeing this as one of the products in this product gives me great confidence in it. It's well packaged which is an added bonus. This other benefit is that most products in this category are in tubes which I personally don't like as I feel you lose some products this way. With this packaging style, I will be able to use every bit of this product which makes me happy... Again value for money.

What changes would you make to this product?

Constanze: I cannot think of anything I would change as even the packing it comes in is lovely. A simple white plastic tin inside a simple white box with contact paper makes for a perfect (baby shower) gift too. I don’t know of there is a smaller travel size version, that would be my only recommendation so it can be taken with.

Fay: Personally I don't think any changes could be made to the Mum to Be Moisturising Bump Butter. It's well presented in an easy to use container that is easily accessible and looks lovely. It has a lovely aroma and does not make your skin feel greasy after usage. If you have too much on your hands you can easily add it back into the container. It's a great price too for only £6.

Stephanie: The consistency in the tub is a little strange and when I first opened the product I was a little put off by the jelly-like texture. However, once the cream is applied to the skin it soon changes to a lovely creamy texture which soaks into the skin without any residue. I would also make different size tubs - larger to last throughout and beyond pregnancy.
