At a glance:
Ramer Sponges' Ramer Baby Sponge is ultra-soft and perfect when caring for your baby's delicate skin. Being a handy and easy to clean sponge, this is a great buy for your baby's bathtime essentials.
How did this product make your life easier?
Angela: This product is well designed and looks good with 3 different colour sets available. It is durable and has survived a teething baby trying to tear it apart with her teeth. They are soft and hold a good amount of water for bathtime. They are sold in packets of two at an excellent price compared to other sponges.
Megan: Yes, instead of using a scratchy sponge, or a flannel that aren’t as comfy and are too big, I can use this, I can put the soap on and it lathers up really well, so I don’t have to use as much soap to wash my little one, and my little one can easily join in with washing. It’s much more hygienic as I can keep one separate to clean her bottom, and the other for the rest of her body. Practical and well thought through.
Gemma: This product is highly durable. It is showing no signs of wear and tear after a couple of months of use every night and has been washed regularly in the washing machine. While these sponges do cost more than some others particularly advertised for babies, they are lint-free and worth the money. The fact that it can be washed in the washing machine at 40degrees extends the life of the sponge giving it even better value for money.
Would you recommend this to other mums?
Claire: I would recommend as easy to use to clean the baby being soft and gentle and particularly useful if children have concerns such as dry skin like both of mine do. I’d say good as dried quickly and then softens again very easily and small to use. It does help get s good lather when used with soap to clean.
Samantha: The sponge is very easy to use, affordable and baby loved having a bath with it. I’ve used a variety of different sponges but I see this lasting longer and staying in good shape. It holds foam very well so you don’t have to reapply bath gel. It fits in the palm of my hand easily, very easy to hold. Also easy to keep clean.
Elaine: I would recommend this product to a fellow mum. They are very nice to use on a baby's skin - even those with sensitive skin. My baby also quite likes to play with it. Their size is ideal for this. They are also nice and small so easy to transport and don't take up a lot of room. This is particularly helpful seeing these small babies need a lot of stuff when travelling!
Would you choose this product to win?
Samantha: I would choose this product above all others on the market at current because it is great value for money and it long-lasting! My first sponge from the multi-pack has already been through the washing machine three times on a 40-degree wash and has come out good as new every time. It lathers up nicely and is soft on my baby’s eczema-prone skin. I love that the sponges come in packs of two and each sponge is a different shade of colour so that you can easily tell who’s sponge is who’s at bath time!
Gemma: Ramer claims that these sponges have “been loved by parents, and babies alike for generations”. I agree with this comment and have found that there are very few negative comments about their products. I feel the bright colours of the sponges make them stand out and make them more appealing to people. This product is an essential requirement at bath time and I would pick using these sponges over any other on the market. I would also opt for using these over flannels or any other type of bathing product. The life span of this product, in particular, exceeded my expectations.
Megan: There’s nothing else out there like the Ramer Sponge. Yes, there are sponges, but they are often big, bulky, and they go smelly really quickly. These sponges are so soft, they’re hygienic, they’re specifically designed to be the right size and shape for washing babies/toddlers. I like how they can be washed in the washing machine. They are a very good value for money – last for ages, better for the environment as I don’t go through sponges so quickly, and I use less soap so everything lasts for longer.
What changes would you make to this product?
Claire: I am still using the same sponge, it has been in use for about 3 months but not at every bath time, it has ripped now, I would have thought it would have lasted longer. It would be great if they didn't come in plastic packaging. The sponges are made from PVA a type of plastic and this is not recyclable. It would be nice if Ramer could look into using more eco-friendly products for those of us who are conscious of the plastic waste we produce especially when we have small children.
Samantha: I might make the sponge a little bigger or thicker. I might also sell it as a multipack if maybe 5 or 6. I would love a flannel product made by the same team with the same thought put into the quality of three flannel or towel. I might also make the sponge different shapes and colours (brighter colours) to make it appealing to the baby.
Angela: The only thing I would change would be the size. For an older or bigger baby, a bigger size of sponge is generally more useful for hair and body washing than the size of these sponges. If they could see a slightly bigger version then these would be our go-to sponge, however. On the whole, they are an excellent product.
