At a glance:

Chicco's Next2Me Magic crib allows your baby to sleep safely while close to you in the night. This advanced side-to-side, easy to use, will make the late-night feeds and soothing your little one in the night much easier for any parent.

How did this product make your life easier?

Amy: This product makes it so much easier for me as a breastfeeding mum, it is so hard to keep lifting baby out of a crib in the night to feed especially as my son needed feeding so much first of all and he still does often; the side of the crib comes down so I can just lean over to baby at the side of the bed and feed him of even lay to the side to him. It also has a feature where you can rock the crib which is amazing as other next2me cribs do not have this option. My son loves to be held and rocked on my shoulder to go to sleep during the day so to be able to place him in the crib and carry on rocking him is a great feature.

Lauren: This product makes my life SO much easier as a mum, especially a new mum who really struggles with worry over safe sleeping. My little one was in a Moses basket when a newborn, so to be able to have him next to me and I can see and hear him at all times really has helped me and my anxiety! I can sleep a lot better!

Katie: This product has been a lifesaver for my 4-month-old daughter, I can let her sleep at the side of me but not be worried about rolling on her in the night. I breastfeed so this has been ideal for me to easily get to her without disturbing her too much. The side of the crib is easy to slide down and love the fact it is breathable mesh making it safer for baby.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Rebecca: I would absolutely recommend this product to parents. It has so many amazing features that I feel sets it apart from similar products on the market. The design is great it's easy to assemble and to get a perfect fit against your bed and is a definite must-have item for breastfeeding mothers. You can see your baby and check on them without having to leave your bed and even with the panel up you can see through the mesh design. It's also easy to transport as it comes with a handy bag. I also feel this product is of very high quality.

Christina: I would highly recommend this product to other mum friends because of its functionality and ease of use. It can fit most beds and allows for child and parent bonding whilst co-sleeping safely. The crib looks great and would blend in with any room decor. The crib is very functional due to the tilt function and height adjustability. Although the crib is bulky and heavy, it is mobile as has wheels and it can also be used as a travel cot as it comes with a handy carry bag. I would highly recommend this crib to my mummy friends.

Roisin: Yes. It is well built, secure, great functions eg attaching onto your bed and the rocking action. It was easy to build, feels expensive. The adjustable height was invaluable. It was easy to move between rooms as it sits on wheels. It was large enough to last much longer than eg a Moses basket so baby can stay in your room for longer.

Would you choose this product to win?

Hannah: I’m not sure if I would choose it. With a price tag north of 230, it is a lot of money to spend on something which has much cheaper competitors. The rocking function is nice - although this can only be used safely when the side is up making it a bit fussy. I have tried an earlier model and this model is certainly easier to use and of more sturdy construction.

Katie: This product should win hands down in my opinion, not only is it safe, it is stylish and practical. It is not the cheapest of cribs on the market today but I feel it wins hands down for quality and comfort for the baby, my daughter was very comfortable in it. It also seems to be one of the cribs that has the most room which is great for a bigger chunky baby like mine.

Roisin: No, although it has plenty of great features as mentioned above there are a few negatives. It has a large footprint so if space is an issue in your bedroom you might struggle to fit it in. It doesn’t have the feature of being able to raise the head of the cot and putting books under the mattress is difficult as it doesn’t have a solid base.

What changes would you make to this product?

Natalie: One feature I like is that it can rock but when it is attached to the bed you can’t do this so I haven’t actually been able to do this at all. It may be impossible but it would be great to be able to do this when properly attached as I can’t see when you would ever use this feature otherwise. Also, it was a little difficult to get the cover off the mattress to wash it, given how many accidents babies have it would be great if this was easier.

Hannah: I think that the height adjusters need to have more varied settings. We have a divan bed and the unit didn’t come up to the level of our mattress meaning that I still had to reach up and over the edge to get the baby out. This is hard on your back if you’ve got a heavy baby or challenging if you’ve had a section. The mattress also didn’t seem too comfortable. My little girl would wake up as soon as I moved her over to it after nursing.

Lauren: I wouldn't change one thing about the product itself as it really does cater for every single situation. It allows the room for different bed sizes and also allows you to pull the bar down so you can reach them a lot easier! This product sells itself and is a really good product when it comes to a baby's sleep needs!
