Mother & Baby 2018 Shortlist

At a glance:

This Dreami crib definitely has some great features – the mesh sides make it breathable, the stand saves your back and the rocking motion helps your little one to get to sleep. It’s not the sturdiest crib in this category, but it’s super lightweight, making it easy to transport.

What they say:

"The Dreami is a multi-award winning, baby sleep system, designed to keep baby close to you but safe in their own cosy sleeping space. It can be used as a bedside crib for night time feeding and is easily moved around your home during the day – so no need to buy more than one bed for baby. It is quiet, lightweight, easy to clean and breathable."

Would you recommend this to other mums?

A lot of mums like to have their baby napping in the same room as them during the day. This product is perfect for that as it is so easy to move around the house. Of course, it can also be used all through the night as a bedside crib and is therefore multi-functional and great value for money! However, I did find that the crib became too small for my baby quite quickly and she didn’t have enough space.

How did this product make your life easier?

The Dreami is easy to move around and small enough to position in any room of the house. The stand means they are quite high up, so you don’t have to strain your back leaning in and out of the crib. The rocking feature is also very useful as motion helps baby to sleep.

Would you choose this product to win?

The Dreami is a great product, but would not be my first choice. The insert felt a little baggy, with gaps between it and the outer basket. I didn’t feel the quality was excellent, compared to other side cribs I have seen.

What changes would you make to this product?

The design of the insert needs to be modified so that there are no gaps between it and the outer basket, I didn't like how the material was baggy. But otherwise, it is a good product.

I think this is a great crib! The design is sleek and minimalist and would look good in any home. It is really hygienic because the outside of the basket it plastic and therefore wipeable, and the inner lining is removable and machine washable. The assembly instructions are very easy to follow and the crib was simple to put together. Although you can't fold the basket down for transportation, you can put the basket inside the stand in the rocking position, and it fits into the boot of the car. The basket is very cosy looking and seems a lovely place for a baby to sleep. The inner lining of the basket is a sort of mesh, so it’s very breathable.

How did this product make your life easier?

Unfortunately, my daughter was over the weight limit for the product, so I could not use it properly with her. But I can imagine that it would have been brilliant for her when she was smaller. She isn't a good sleeper and regularly needs rocking to sleep, so the rocking option would have been a lifesaver.

Would you choose this product to win?

Personally, I wouldn't choose this product above all others because I don't think it is suitable for larger babies. I found that the Chicco Next2me crib was more suited to my baby’s size and weight. However, for smaller babies, this is a great option that I would absolutely recommend.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would change the weight limit of the crib and perhaps make the dimensions slightly bigger so that it would hold a larger baby.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this product as it is bigger than a standard Moses basket, meaning that it lasts longer. My baby is five-months-old and can still fit nicely inside! The rocking base is an excellent feature that settles baby quickly and the holes in the bottom of the basket mean that there is a constant airflow in the crib.

How did this product make your life easier?

I loved the rocking option as my baby sleeps so well with a bit of light motion. I also like the size of the crib as it is bigger than a standard Moses basket, which saved us money as it lasted longer.

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes, I would choose this it to win. It is one of the most breathable cribs I have come across and is also super easy to transport round the house into different rooms.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would perhaps like the product to feel sturdier to give mums peace of mind that the crib will hold and support their babies fully.
