At a glance:

We love the wetness indicators on these nappies – helping you to see at a glance when your tot needs a change (especially in the middle of the night!). Our panel of mum testers loved these nappies, and wished they went up to size five!

What they say:

“Whether this is your first little angel or you’ve been on this journey before, we know how important your first pack of nappies can be to you and your baby. That’s why our super-soft newborn range is there to support you through this important milestone. Our 0-2 size nappies feature a special, contoured design that wraps around your loved one’s tummy to help prevent umbilical irritation. Oh, and our elasticated leg cuffs and flexi-fit design do a great job of helping prevent leaks – meaning you might not have as many messy outfit changes to make!”

Tested by mum Abigail Ettwell-Docter for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Definitely! They fit so much better than other branded nappies in the same size, they fit snug to baby’s legs meaning no leaks. I LOVE the wetness indicator – it’s a big help knowing how wet the nappy is, especially in the early days. They are very easy to use, they have a lovely stretch around the waist compared to other brands and for the legs perfectly without causing sore marks. Super importantly, they don't irritate my daughter’s sensitive bottom.

How did this product make your life easier?

I love the fact the Little Angels Newborn nappies have a wetness indicator, as this is a big help in the middle of the night. The stretchy waistband is perfect for my baby as she can move around more freely and comfortably. They haven't leaked once which I am very impressed about, and I love that they are not bulky. They feel fairly soft and as far as I can tell my daughter is happy with these nappies. From a fussy point of view, the design is very plain and simple which is perfect as they don’t show through tights and clothing. Finally, the closing tabs have a good stick and don't come undone, which is a problem I have had in the past with a different brand of nappies.

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes, I do think I would choose these nappies to win a Mother & Baby award and I'm definitely converting to these for my daughter. The wetness indicator and stretch waist band are the main selling points to me! I love the fact they are not as bulky as some other brands, they don't cause my daughter any irritations on her delicate skin and there have been no leaks or dreaded poo explosions!  They seem to fit really nicely and my daughter looks comfortable in them.

What changes would you make to this product?

If I could change one thing, it would be making the tabs a bit tougher, as with a wriggly baby if you pull the tabs too hard they can rip off the nappy. Apart from this, the nappies have performed admirably and we've no issues with this brand whatsoever. I’d definitely recommend this to my fellow mummies!

Tested by mum Gemma Maxwell for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Absolutely! The Little Angel nappies really surprised me as they outperformed our other nappies (which are a popular, well-known brand) overnight. My son had been waking up damp each morning where liquid had saturated the material, but with the Little Angels nappies, he could get through the whole night and remain dry with no leaks. We have now started using these nappies every night, as I trust them to keep him dry and comfortable.

How did this product make your life easier?

These Little Angels nappies actually put my mind at rest. My son is exclusively breastfed so doesn’t ‘go’ very often, but when he does, it’s usually when we’re out of the house. This means I was having to carry extra spare outfits, a towel, and more wipes than usual around with me. More often than not, we were having to pop to a relative’s house in order to use their bath! However, when wearing these nappies, they contained everything as they should, meaning it was a simple nappy change rather than a big panic. I was able to go out and relax knowing that he wasn’t going to leak everywhere. Thank you, Asda!

Would you choose this product to win?

I definitely would choose these Little Angels nappies over other brands, as they outperformed every other nappy I have tried in terms of keeping my son dry. I was able to go out without worrying we’d be caught short, and for that reason, these nappies should win a Mother & Baby award for the peace of mind they give an anxious mum! In terms of design, it was pleasing enough to look at, but I really loved the wetness indicator. This makes life so much easier as I’ve previously changed nappies and not been sure if it was wet or not.

What changes would you make to this product?

I wouldn’t change a thing about the nappy itself as I think it’s hard to improve on perfection. I would make this particular brand and type of nappy available in bigger sizes though. My son is about to go into the next size bracket which these nappies don’t cater for, they go up to size three then change to a different type of nappy. If they went up to a size five then I would use them right the way up. They’re that good!

Tested by mum Karen Grant for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I was looking forward to testing these Little Angels nappies as Asda was the only supermarket brand of nappies I hadn't tested yet; however, I found these nappies didn’t last as long as others I have used in the past. There have been leaks (both poo and urine) since using this brand, which I don't normally have. It also has not lasted overnight without leaking, which was disappointing as baby sleeps through the night now.

How did this product make your life easier?

Unfortunately, these didn’t really make my life easier as I found they leaked more than other nappies I have tried. Also, the size wasn’t as good as my usual nappies – these looked smaller and tighter on my baby. That said, this could just have been me, and I do think the nappy is soft and the price is a good reason for mums to try them. All babies are different so may get on with them better than I did.

Would you choose this product to win?

I don’t think this nappy is the best on the market, so wouldn’t choose it to win an award. I liked how soft it felt, but thought the absorbency was not as good as other brands. As mentioned above, the nappy also felt a bit snug on my baby and my baby is nowhere near the top end of the recommended weight.

What changes would you make to this product?

I think improving absorption would make this nappy a lot better, as I currently feel it gets very wet and heavy after a short period of time. Also amending the sizing to be more in keeping with other brands would also be a plus.

Tested by mum Katie Marshall for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this product to anyone who asked about nappies, as I have not experienced any leaks while using these for my child. The product is very easy to use and feels nice and soft against my baby’s skin. You can also tell if your child has a wet nappy simply by glancing at the front of the nappy which is very handy. They are mainly white in colour, which looks nice under white or light outfits. Finally, the size guide referred to on the packaging is convenient, as you know once the tabs can no longer sit on the small colour block on the front it's time to move up a size.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product is simple but very effective! It is very easy to use as you can easily unfold the nappy with one hand and get it under your baby while holding your baby’s legs up with the other. The colour changing strip makes life easier as you can see when your child has a wet nappy and the price of these nappies is also a massive plus.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose these Little Angels nappies above others as they are easy to use one handed, they are soft on my baby’s skin, they are great value for money, and I haven't experienced any leaks whilst using this product.

What changes would you make to this product?

I honestly cannot think of anything that I would change about the nappy in terms of the functionality. The only thing I would change would be the design, in order to make them 'prettier'. It would also be good if the nappy was available to buy in a mega quantity pack.

Tested by mum Laura Tucker for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend the Little Angels Newborn nappies to fellow mums, but only as a nappy for use during the daytime, as I found that these leak at night when my daughter sleeps through and is in the nappy for 11 to 12 hours. As a daytime nappy, these are great – I love the wetness indicator and the markings on the front that show when to move up a size. My daughter never made a fuss about wearing these nappies and they have not caused any nappy rash. The nappies are very easy to use and the adjustable back ensures a good fit.

How did this product make your life easier?

I found that the nappies were easy to use and very generous in size compared to a lot of other size three nappies. The sticky tabs stuck very well, but were also very easy to undo during quick nappy changes. I love the fact that the nappies include a wetness indicator which my husband finds especially useful. The adjustable back ensures that the nappy stays in place now that my baby is active and rolling around all over the place, and I have found the nappies are very well fitting and suit the shape of my daughter.

Would you choose this product to win?

I do not think this product should win due to the leaks that we have had overnight which we do not get with other brands. Also, when the nappy gets quite full they do smell which also hasn’t been a problem with other brands. Even though there have been a few problems, I have found that the Little Angels nappies are a lot better than some other brands, and are very good value for money. For me, the stand out feature of this nappy is the wetness indicator which I feel should be a feature on all nappies.

What changes would you make to this product?

The one thing that I would change about this nappy is its durability overnight. I feel that a size three nappy should be able to go through a whole 12-hour night without leaking.

Tested by mum Gemma Bashford for the M&B Awards 2017:

Would you recommend Asda Little Angels Newborn Nappies to other mums?

I would recommend Asda Little Angels Newborn Nappies as they draw away all the wetness from babies delicate bottoms making them more hygienic. The design is very good especially designed around the baby cord with a softer finish and around the leg is elasticated stopping an leaking on to my baby’s clothes and a sizing and wetness indicator. After using more expensive brands these are so much better no leaks, soft on my baby's bum and value for money.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product makes things easier as a mum, no having to fold baby nappy to stop it rubbing on her cord. Also the elastic leg barrier prevents any leakage on to clothes saving changing and washing time. Using this nappy it allows me a little extra time before having to change my baby as the nappy absorbs the wetness so well it feels practically dry where other some other brands have not absorbed enough.

Would you choose this product to win?

This product is the best brand I have tried yet, never had any leaking, my baby's bum never sticks to the nappy the material is soft on my baby's skin that soaks up any wetness leaving my baby’s skin dry and also the nappy is not bulky.

What changes would you make to this product?

There is nothing I would change about this nappy. As well as being a first-class nappy it is outstanding value for money.

Tested by mum Courtney French for the M&B Awards 2017:

Would you recommend Asda Little Angels Newborn Nappies to other mums?

I would recommend these because I love the brand Little Angels they are the best nappies I have used. I think the design of these nappies are been thought through so well! I love the idea of how the band is curved at the top to stop irritation on the umbilical cord, and have never known any other nappy to have this!

How did this product make your life easier?

This product makes my life easier as the fit is really good so we had 1 leakage and that was it, so less mess, also made nappy changes quicker! They are easy to get out of the pack and unfold with one hand if necessary.

What changes would you make to this product?

I think the tabs could be a little bit stickier as I felt they they came undone a little easy and sometime on their own, my little girl is not crawling yet but I was wondering if they would be as good when she is.

Tested by mum Emily Massey for the M&B Awards 2017:

Would you recommend Asda Little Angels Newborn Nappies to other mums?

These nappies fit my little one perfectly, we have tried two different sizes and both have been a success! No more poo explosions! They are incredibly soft on his sensitive skin and are so easy to use. The design ensures that nothing leaks and this has been true for us! They don't have a chemical smell like I've found with other brands.

How did this product make your life easier?

They have the blue line feature so its easy to see when it needs changing without disrupting little one too much, this is especially useful for new mums. They’re super easy to put on meaning theres no faff with unfolding bits of material to fasten and tighten. The double frills also mean I can leave him to poo with confidence it won't be everywhere.

Would you choose this product to win?

These nappies are great value for money, made from soft and easy material to new skin. These are just as good if not better than big name brands yet a fraction of the price. The have all the same features including the stretchy bands to pull tighter and the blue line indicator once the nappy is wet.

What changes would you make to this product?

The design on the nappy itself is boring, just the brand logo. I think a pattern or design for the front strip of this nappy would top this product for me. The fact the only thing I would change is the design says a lot about the quality, material, value for money, comfort and ease of use of this product!
