What we say:
If you want something different to a traditional nursing chair, the Hush Hush 360 Glider and Rocking Chair is worth considering. The design also means you might be happier to have it as a permanent piece of furniture after you’ve finished nursing. It’s ergonomically designed with a lumbar support cushion and footstool. It also has a 360° swivel base.
Tested by Emily Nellist, from Newark, mum to Patrick, three weeks, and Noah, two. She said:
For the price I expected something faultless, yet I didn’t feel fully in control of the swivel feature – I felt I might tip off if I leant too far forward. The gliding motion felt a little too fast as well. I love how versatile it
is, though, and that it’s designed for use as a regular chair when the nursing phase ends.
Tested by Claire Thornhill, from Cumbria, is mum to Ollie, three months, Luke, four, and Erin, six. She said:
This chair’s so deep that my feet don’t reach the floor when I lean back, so I sadly couldn’t take advantage of the swivel feature, although it looks great fun. It was also tricky to change the position once
I’d started feeding. But overall it’s lovely and supportive – the arms are perfectly positioned for comfortable feeding, and it’s very spacious.
Tested by Sara Neale, from Shropshire, is mum to Rupert, six months, and Ralph, 21 months. She said:
The arms on this chair are low, so I have to support myself with cushions to get comfy. Also, the material marks easily so it’s tricky to keep clean, and there’s no storage. But despite those quibbles, sitting in the chair is a dream – and it glides and turns so effortlessly. I can sit in it comfortably with both my boys, so I can foresee cuddles and stories in this for years to come.
