At a glance:

Our panel of mum testers loved this clever little pod, which can be used throughout pregnancy, all the way till your baby is 12-months-old. It’s easy to fold and transport. Unfortunately, you cannot buy additional covers and it can be fiddly to wash, but overall, this is a great product.

What they say:

“ClevaSleep® Pod gives your baby a safe and snug sleeping environment. Using ClevaFoam® technology, this soft luxurious and breathable pod supports baby’s entire body from head to toe during those early months when they are growing at their fastest rate. Can be used in a crib, cot or when co-sleeping. Our portable pod is also great for tummy time, changing station or when travelling. Removable and machine washable cover. Made using ClevaFoam® technology, which is scientifically proven to reduce the pressure on the back of your baby's head by 50% and increase body support by 80% thereby helping to prevent Flat Head Syndrome.”

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would fully recommend this product, and already have been! I love the neutral colour and the design. The fact that the pod folds in half so it isn’t in the way is brilliant. The mattress felt well cushioned, and my daughter finds it comfy to sleep in and it is easily washed if there are any accidents. One of the really good features is, just by unzipping the zip; it can easily become a comfy cushion for during pregnancy!

How did the product make your life easier?

This product is brilliant. My daughter has severe reflux, so never really wants to get put down in her cot due to discomfort, so always slept on me or with me. Since having the Mum2Me pod she is sleeping in her cot all night, most of the time, so I have my bed to myself. She is now having naps during the day, which she has never used to do before, and I’m now able to get housework done. I only wish I’d had this during my pregnancy and from birth.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would definitely choose this sleep product the others. The price is good, as you’re able to use it throughout pregnancy all the way to twelve months, and probably longer. My daughter is in to 9-12 month clothes as she is so long, and she still has plenty of room, and it helps my daughter sleep due to the comfort, and clearly makes her feel secure.

What changes would you make to the product?

The only thing I would change about the pod is that it only comes with one cover, so when accidents most likely happen, it would have to be washed and dried in the same day. A spare cover, or maybe the option to buy one separately would mean baby doesn’t have to go a night without it, or that mum is rushing about and trying to get it washed in the same day.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this product, partly because of how affordable it is for one, and also due to how comfortable it is for baby. It's also a very practical product; being able to fold it all away and take it out with you anywhere, and I love the fact that you can use it in pregnancy and afterwards for baby, and also at night, so baby feels more secure in a big cot.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product makes my life easier by allowing me to use it in the lounge, as well as at night in her cot. You can unfold the pod onto a rug, meaning my baby can lie comfortably on there, rather than always lying on us. It's also great to take out when visiting other people’s houses, and enables her to nap somewhere comfortably.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose this product above similar products on the market because it is a lot cheaper, and because this one has multiple uses unlike some others on the market. This one can even be used before baby is born, while others are literally just for baby to sleep in at night, and, unlike its rivals, is also easily stored.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would change the gap on the side of the product, mainly due to my baby sometimes getting a leg or an arm stuck in there, though I don't know if the gap has to be there in order for it to be able to fold. I would also change that you can't seem to get the covers off to wash them. I feel this is a negative due to babies being sick, and just generally messy, meaning this flaw could cause problems with long term use.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Yes and I have, though I'm not sure if it would be suitable from birth, as it’s still pretty large, but ideal for six-month plus babies, I would say. I love how it folds for transporting, and the bag it came with is very useable. I also love how the colours are light, but not too bright as the Sleepyhead, as I was forever washing that.

How did this product make your life easier?

We have previously used a Sleepyhead Deluxe since birth for our seven-month-old baby, but he had started to get a little big for it, and the Mum2Me pod has been great at bridging the gap for our little boy between using the Sleepyhead and sleeping without it. Since arrival our little boy has slept in it every night in his cot. It’s a lot bigger than the Sleepyhead, so he has more room to wriggle, but still feels secure and contained.

Would you choose this product to win?

I like that this folds easily for transporting than the Sleepyhead, and think it’s ideal for when baby gets a little larger. My son uses this every night, and wouldn't want to be without it. I also feel this will last him till he's over one, making it more cost effective than the Sleepyhead Grande, which is considerably more money.

What changes would you make to this product?

I think it would be fantastic if it were able to be made smaller for newborn babies, and then grow with them, as baby gets older? Due to not being pregnant I was unable to use it myself, although his cot looks so comfy I would love to squeeze in there myself and go to sleep!

This pod has a lot of uses, all of which are clearly shown on the instructions, which is great for pregnancy as well as when baby is here, so would be great for both new and expecting mums. It is easy to transport in the waterproof carry case and easy to fold. In terms of the pod being a sleep product for baby, it is very comfortable.

How did this product make your life easier?

The pod has been a godsend when staying away from home, as it comforts my baby no matter where we stay to ensure a good night’s sleep for both baby and me. I can pack it into the waterproof carry bag and transport it easily in the car. Beforehand, I had to use my mother in law’s cot mattress, which my baby hated, but now I can place the pod into the cot and he sleeps just like he does at home.

Would you choose this product to win?

I had considered buying a Sleepyhead, which I thought was the only sleep pod available, until I was then sent this to review. The Mum2Me pod is better in every way. It is comfier for baby and has uses for mum which is a bonus. It is also bigger, so lasts a lot longer, making it better value against the others on the market, which tent to have to be upgraded when baby gets bigger. I don’t know if I would pay £89.99 for this, but it has made my life easier due to its design and transportability, and my baby seems very happy in it at night. I think the Mum2Me pod should win, as it has a neutral but attractive design, and functions as more than just a sleeping pod.

What changes would you make to this product?

Whilst using this for my baby to sleep in he had a couple of accidents on it, which meant it needed washing. The sick usually landed on the cushion cover in the middle, which would have been easier to wash if it detached from the outer cushion cover, but it doesn’t, so I had to remove the roller cushions as well, which is quite difficult to put back into the cover once washed.

This pod has tons of uses - a pregnancy full-body pillow, baby sleep pod, feeding cushion, the ability to be used for tummy time. Although the retail price of £89.99 may initially seem very steep, the many functions of the pod more than recoup these costs. The pod isn’t as rigid as traditional C-shape feeding pillows that I’ve had previously, which makes it more comfortable to use and offers more support for feeding by supporting not only my lumbar region, but also my whole back. ClevaMama boasted that the “clevafoam”, which the mattress is made from, is “scientifically proven to reduce the pressure on the back of your baby’s head by 50% and increase support by 80%, thereby helping to prevent Flat Head Syndrome”.  It also helped to give the cushion a more luxurious feeling to it, and my son appeared very comfortable when he was in it. The pod will last a baby up until one-year-old, which is great, because many of the other sleeping pods available are much smaller, so don’t last as long.

How did this product make your life easier?

The pod was very easy to use as it has two zips that allow it to be transformed from a sleeping pod into a feeding cushion and back, when required. It also has handles at both ends to allow it to be folded in half and be carried easily from room to room, and there are washable jersey cotton covers on it that make it nice and cosy for baby. As my little one suffers from reflux, I was very relieved to see that there was a water-resistant lining and a washable cover to allow me to keep it clean easily.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would definitely choose this because it is a multifunction product that saves having the clutter and expense of having all the individual products in the house if bought separately (pregnancy body pillow, sleep pod, feeding pillow, tummy time cushion). Also, the pod is made to a high quality, so I think it should last well.

What changes would you make to this product?

I wouldn't change the design of the pod, as I feel that it works very well, but I thought that when the cover was in the wash (as it often was, due to my little boy suffering from reflux) that I could have done with a spare cover to allow me to use the pod during that time. When using the pod as a feeding pillow, the zip is facing in towards mum’s body, which could irritate some mothers, though it didn't bother me, and I felt it was a small sacrifice.
