At a glance:

We love this clever 3in1 wash from Childs Farm! Not only does it look beautiful, our panel of mum testers loved being able to just carry one bottle in the changing bag and thought the scent was fantastic.

What they say:

“Our award-winning 3-in-1 swim is a shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Use after swimming to thoroughly clean off chlorine and come up smelling of strawberry and organic mint. Especially formulated to protect and moisturise young skin and hair.”

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Yes! I have rebought this product since testing it and would happily recommend it and other products by this company, as the ingredients are natural and it is suitable for eczema prone skin. My son’s skin reacted really well to the product, and it removed the chlorine smell from the swimming pool effectively from his skin and hair.

How did the product make your life easier?

It is a 3-in-1 product, which is ideal when out and washing my son, as I only need to take one bottle with me. The smell is lovely and my son doesn’t mind it going over his face. The soap leaves my baby’s skin and hair smelling lovely and clean, and hasn’t caused any dryness or skin reactions. The lid is also really easy to open, and the soap lathers well.

Being a 3-in-1 product, I only need to pack and manage one bottle in the shower with my baby after swimming. My son’s hair is still quite short, so conditioner is not a necessity, but I was able to use it on my niece at the same time and her hair was nicely untangled afterwards. It’s suitable from birth, which is a bonus, and I found that I didn't require a lot of the product to get a good lather, so the first bottle lasted quite a long time. Plus, it smells amazing!

What changes would you make to the product?

The shape of the bottle – it could be a bit slippery in the shower when wet and as it is a cylinder; it became harder to keep hold off. The shape of the bottle could be better designed by considering the ergonomics, so that it had better grip or a handle.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would one hundred per cent recommend this product to other mums. The scent is great; it lathers really well and seems to last ages! I've not yet run out despite using it for a couple of months, but I will definitely be replacing it when I do! I thought the idea of the three in one, wash, shampoo and conditioner was a great idea. The fact that you’re not messing around with multiple bottles was great and made bath time easier. Throughout the time I've been using the product I have never experienced any irritation on my baby’s skin, even though he has particularly sensitive skin. He has never gotten upset about getting it in his eyes, and although we do try to steer clear of his eyes and face when washing his hair, on the odd occasion it has gone in his face he has never gotten upset, which shows the product is gentle and inoffensive.

How did this product make your life easier?

I thought this product was fantastic. The idea that it combined three in one was a great idea and I loved everything about the product. The smell was lovely and lasted long after I'd washed the baby’s hair; and the packaging was great, very colourful and informative. As a first-time mum, I was apprehensive about using anything on my baby’s skin, and for the first couple of months I only bathed him in water. After he developed eczema I was even more cautious about using different products, so when I received this product to test I was apprehensive too. However, when I read the information on the bottle I felt reassured immediately, as the fact the product can be used from birth and helps dry skin, and can also be used on babies with eczema. After using the product I was completely sold!

In comparison to others on the market I feel the Childs Farm product has a much more superior feel. I just felt more comfortable using it. I put that down to a number of different reasons – the packaging, which was informative, friendly and warming; the UK made element offered reassurance; the bottle and lid were really easy to use, and the product came out quickly and with little effort, which is always great when your trying to juggle a baby at bath time. I just had a great feeling about it and the design. A lot of time and effort have clearly gone into the design to make it the best it could be, as apposed to some others on the market, which I feel are more mass-produced rubbish!

What changes would you make to this product?

I don't think there was one thing that I would change about the product to be honest! I know that seems a bit of a cop out, but honestly, the product was great, and definitely had the baby’s best interest at heart.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would definitely recommend this product to fellow mums. The smell was totally delicious. Transporting the bottle was very easy, it didn't leak as the lid was just a click down. My daughter's skin did not react, so would recommend to people who have children with troublesome skin.

How did this product make your life easier?

By using Childs Farm 3-in-1 Swim, its saves me time by not having to use separate shampoo and body wash when going swimming, therefore I do not have to pack so many bottles in my bag, saving on space which is always great when having a baby! All packaging is 100% recyclable which is brilliant, just a quick rinse out and the entire bottle can go in the recycling bin.

Would you choose this product to win?

I do think this product should be a high contender in the best swimming product category. The aroma of this product is divine and the organic mint really gives it a kick. The smell fills the room once you have washed. The fact it can be used on newborns is also a bonus, as you do worry about skin allergies.

What changes would you make to this product?

The main thing I would change about this product would be the price. At £3.99 a bottle it is quite steep compared to other swimming body washes on the market and if children swim once a week, it could become quite expensive to keep purchasing. However, as some ingredients are organic, you do expect to pay more.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

This product does everything you would want it to for a very good price. The smell is unusual but not off putting, and it foams very nicely. Gets rid of chlorine odors very effectively, and the skin is left very soft and rash free. It's space saving design and the push down lid means it's easier with slippery hands rather than a more traditional clip lid. Would definitely recommend to friends.

How did this product make your life easier?

I like that it does three jobs in one package. For swimming and at home, it's so much easier than having three different products floating around in the bath. For the price, it’s good value for money compared to most high street equivalents, and isn’t loaded with the harsh ingredients often found in their solutions. It also clears space in my bathroom, which is really useful!

Would you choose this product to win?

Most definitely! The unusual patterns on the label catch the eye without being garish, and the bright lid colour is also a winner. The product looks a higher class than those more commonly on offer, and I think it should win because although it's a 3-in-1 product, it does each wash very effectively. It's convenient, and very good value

What changes would you make to this product?

I'd probably explore new smells. I don't dislike the combination, but I'm not a huge fan. Perhaps having gripper grooves or indentations the bottle would also help with grip. With it being a smooth bottle, it slips quite easily sometimes.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this product to a friend as it did a lovely job of cleaning my daughter’s delicate skin. The product was great for taking to the pool, as I only have to take one bottle for body and hair. The design of the product is useful as you can open and dispense with one hand while holding onto a wriggly baby in the other. The design of the bottle is very eye-catching which kept my baby’s attention while I got her washed. The fragrance of the wash took a fair bit of rinsing off but this would not stop me from purchasing this product again. It did get rid of the chlorine smell well and lathered up quickly, with no scrubbing needed. It didn’t dry my baby’s skin out and left her nice and soft. I feel this is a quality product, which does exactly what it says on the bottle.

How did this product make your life easier?

I loved taking this product to the pool as it didn't take up much room in my swim bag and can be used for hair and body, which was very handy. I love the cap on the bottle, as it's tough for little ones to open but simple enough for me to manage with one hand while holding a wriggly baby with the other. It dispenses easily with no mess, which is a big help, and stands well on its top when I start to run low. The only drawback was it took a little longer to rinse off which can be frustrating with a wriggly, slippery baby. I found the product lathered up well and got rid of the chlorine smell, but I wasn’t keen on the smell of the product.

Would you choose this product to win?

No, while there are so many pluses with this product, the fragrance lets it down. That aside, I love the convenience of this product being a three in one, meaning I don't have to drag a lot of bottles to the swimming pool with me. I feel this is a quality product that protects my baby’s skin from becoming dry after splashing around in the pool. The product has no parabens or other nasties, which is always a plus with me, as I don't like to use harsh chemicals on my baby.

What changes would you make to this product?

The scent could be a little more strawberry flavoured. The wash got rid of the chlorine smell, but I didn't feel my baby smelt that great afterwards.
