Here's what Tom, dad to Frederick, nine months, thought of the iCandy Orange...
How did this product make your life easier?
This product has made our life easier in lots of ways. A key feature that we absolutely love is the ‘duopod’ foot muff. This is fur-lined, so super cosy for our baby, and can be zipped on and off which we found really helpful as it allowed us to put Freddie straight from the car into the pram without having to dress him in lots of bulky clothes. We also loved the fact this was compatible with the 5-point harness, as it ensured that it was secure at all times, but was equally easily removed for warmer weather. We’ve also found the harness itself very straightforward to fasten which has definitely made our life lots easier when trying to secure a wriggly baby!
In further regards to comfort, the pram seat itself is very wide and spacious with lovely soft material and our little boy seems very comfortable sat in here for long walks. The seat is also a bucket style seat which allows us to really easily adjust the seat from sitting to lying down with one hand and one lever, which has been great for when Freddie falls asleep sitting up.
Another great design is the pram handle. Not only can this be adjusted easily with one hand, it also extends to a really good height – perfect for our baby’s Grandad who is 6ft 3!
When looking at storage space, this pram has plenty! With a huge basket underneath that is perfect for shopping bags, and an ingenious pocket on the back of the seat, this pram has definitely been designed with storage in mind. We have found the pocket on the back of the pram particularly useful as this is great for holding keys, phone & wipes etc when just nipping out for a short walk.
The rain cover is also very easy to put on quickly, which is a great benefit with the UK weather - and is a brilliant design to keep baby cosy, snug and dry.
Would you recommend this to other parents?
Yes, we would definitely recommend the iCandy Orange to other parents, specifically for city use, as it is a very stylish, comfortable pram with various helpful features designed with both baby and parent in mind.
Would you choose this product above all others on the market?
We wouldn’t choose this as our main pram above all others on the market. This is purely due to the fact that we do a lot of walking off-road and feel that we need further suspension and a less bulky frame. If we were however using this for city-living, we would definitely choose this product as our main pram.
We have the Nuna Mixx which we find more suitable for off-road walking as it has greater suspension and manoeuvrability, and it also folds down more compact which is easier for fitting in the boot.
What changes would you make to this product?
Although the product overall is a fantastic design, there are a couple of changes we would make. Firstly, we would make the hood larger as it doesn’t extend very far to protect baby from the sun, and the hood gets stuck at one side so is uneven (we’re not sure if this is just our particular pram). The pram frame doesn’t fold as flat as other prams we have used which takes up more valuable space in the car boot, so it would be great if this could be condensed. Also, the frame is quite wide, which on one hand is great as it makes the pram sturdy and comfortable, on the other hand, it is harder to navigate around smaller shops.
