At a glance:

We love how robust this all-terrain double buggy looks, whilst still being super lightweight and easy to push. With quick release removable wheels and an easy fold, getting it into the boot of your car is a doddle. There isn’t a great deal of storage but it’s a small price to pay.

What they say:

“The Nipper Double V4 is the ideal choice for parents who require a multipurpose pushchair for two. It feels remarkably light for a double weighing only 12.8kg! At a slimline 72cm the Nipper double can glide though standard doorways ensuring ease of use when out & about. With independently reclining seats, individual hoods and the option to attach either 1 or 2 carrycots, the Nipper double is capable or comfortably seating two children of different ages or sizes. With an extensive list of features, fine attention to detail and an array of accessories both parent and children will enjoy the journey.”

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would absolutely recommend this to anyone wanting a side by side double. It seems really well made and the green looks lovely in the countryside. It is also really surprisingly light to push and feels really durable. That said, it did take me more than one go to get the hang of folding it down, especially in my sleep-deprived panic, however the instructions are really easy to follow with good pictures!

How has this product made your life easier?

As a mum of a three-month-old and a 3.5-year-old, I had not even considered purchasing a double buggy as my oldest has not been in one for a year, but I might now be persuaded! I was able to take them out to a nature reserve and go on a lovely walk for an hour without any unhappiness from my children. The little one was obviously comfy as he fell asleep straight away and without this buggy, I would not have got my much-needed exercise. I have the Britax Affinity pram and it is much harder to get this across a field than the Double Nipper; it is definitely designed to cope with tough terrain

Would you choose this product to win?

This product is high quality, durable and flexible to use. The only limitations were the width of the pushchair, but this didn’t stop me getting anywhere I wanted to go. My three-year-old loved being next to her baby brother. I think this is a winning product and a way of seriously increasing your happy mum time if you like the outdoors. It is effortless to push and is a smooth ride for my children. I really like it!

What changes would you make to this product?

The only changes I’d make would be adding some labels to make it easier to fold down. There seem to be quite a lot of movable bits, and a little prompt would be handy for us sleep-deprived mothers or when family are helping out with kids. Otherwise a fantastic product and a worthy winner in my view.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

This buggy is brilliant. My 18-month-old and three-year-old love it, fit nicely into it and I enjoy pushing them in it. The Nipper has so many well-thought-out features; from extra pockets, optional airflow vents, an accessible foot break and separate sunshades. I can push it through my small cottage front door (which a previous Nipper model does not go through) and is a comfy ride for the kids across the fields on our daily dog walk. It is also pretty light and agile for a double buggy. I can run with it and the handle allows for a good stride length which other buggies don't allow. The buggy, while big, folds down well. We took it away with us for a long weekend and just put it at the bottom of the car boot and put everything else (including the dog) on top! It can also be stored upright, which is a godsend as a space saver in the house. A great buggy that will last through all stages of having two children. Thank you Out and About!

How has this product made your life easier?

Both of my children are comfortable and happy to be in the buggy. I like that I can adjust the seats easily depending on what the child needs. If one is asleep I can lie the seat totally flat, likewise, if the sun is out but only one of them wants the sunshade up it isn't a problem thanks to the separate sun hoods. The multiple pockets mean that all of my bits and bobs have a place and are easily to hand. The buggy is easy to put up, take down and store away. Also, the rain cover is really simple to use and folds away really nicely without me having to become an origami expert!

Would you choose this product to win?

I think that for a side-by-side buggy this surely can't be beaten. You wouldn't have a problem getting it in and around the shops, it is very happy being stomped around fields and along tracks and I can run with it. It really does tick all boxes. It is made really well and everything has been thought through.

What changes would you make to this product?

The straps can be fiddly to put together as you have to connect two pieces on each side before clicking into the central holder. This can be a struggle when your child is planking and doesn't want to be clipped in. It isn't a deal breaker though and hasn't really caused me any issues.

Tested by mum Jodie Warrington for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Yes, it is really well designed. Particular features I liked were that it was slim enough to get through gaps while still fitting two three-year-olds. It was light and easy to push and the break was easy to apply. It was very good that the two hoods worked independently of each other, so each child had a choice. The colour is very bright which helped it stand out in a busy buggy park, although I probably would choose a subtler shade! Downsides were that there was not much storage space and what there was very difficult to access. It was also a bit tricky to set up at first – we just left it up in the hallway but I wouldn't really want to put up and down often.

How has this product made your life easier?

This helped to transport two toddlers and was really useful when we took it on holiday to Centre Parcs with us. It also enabled us to get them home quickly when they were tired and close to meltdown after busy days. Without the pushchair, we would've had miserable children and stressed grown-ups!

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes, it's so light, easy to push and turn, and both children were very happy to sit in it. I like that both children can sit side by side, not one underneath, yet still it is narrow enough to get through aisles and doors. The clever features like reclining seats and hoods that work independently of each other were well thought out.

What changes would you make to this product?

There was not enough storage space for me and I found the storage space available difficult to access. You could only reach small things like water bottles put in last and I'd like more storage, or at the very least be able to reach into the existing basket more easily. I completely understand it’s difficult when trying to make a pushchair as small as possible but anyone pushing two children is also going to be transporting a lot of stuff!

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend the Nipper Double V4 buggy to friends and fellow mums because I honestly did find it made my life easier. It is lightweight and really easy to fold and unfold. I was really impressed with how easy it was to manoeuvre, especially with a four-year-old and one-year-old in it. The seats are deep and spacious, and accordingly to my four-year-old are comfortable. I loved that the buggy had separate hoods and that the seats were separate and reclined enough so my one year old could sleep comfortably and have her own space. The quality of the materials used seem very good and despite a spillage, cleaned up really well.  I also loved the fact the buggy had top viewing windows as especially with the one-year-old, I like being able to see her and check she is OK (and when she has woken up from her sleep so I can adjust her seating position). I also thought the pockets in the hoods were very useful for putting small things in like keys and mobile phone.

How has this product made your life easier?

This Nipper Double V4 buggy made my life easier as a mum as I have a four-year-old and a one-year-old, so I was able to put them both in the pushchair, something which I would never thought I could do, having never considered a double buggy.  On long walks this would be really useful as we currently end up carrying the eldest child as she becomes tired.  I felt the pushchair was roomy enough to do this and whilst the eldest stayed upright, the youngest child was able to lay back and go to sleep. Although I thought that such a large pushchair would be very hard to steer, I was very pleasantly surprised at how easy it turned and little effort I had to put into moving it. I was also very pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to collapse and put into the boot of my car, taking up less space than I thought it would.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose the Nipper Double V4 buggy above all others on the market because of its quality and value for money. It really light, manoeuvres so well and is easy to fold and unfold. The deep seats are spacious, look comfortable and recline flat. The separate hoods are great; I love that they come down nice and low and I would feel comfortable knowing they would protect my children from the sun and wind. The handle height is good and both myself and husband could find positions of comfort. The only downside for me was the lack of storage, as I struggled with this when shopping.

What changes would you make to this product?

If I could change one thing about the Nipper Double V4 buggy it would be the storage. I will often do some shopping using the buggy, so one of the main things I look for when purchasing a pushchair is storage and I do feel that this is slightly lacking with the Nipper Double v4 buggy.

Tested by mum Sarah Stevenson for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I think this is a great pushchair if you can afford it, for mums of two children close in age. It's very versatile and would work well enough for jogging, city use, country use, and it folds up to put in a car without issues. I think this is an excellent pushchair if your main concerns are having an easy to use, comfortable ride. It's a side by side design so not as slim as a stacking style double pushchair, but we didn't have any problems going through doorways.

How has this product made your life easier?

This is a very high quality, well made double pushchair. It's excellent for two similar age children, but also works well for different aged children, with lots of thoughtful details (you can recline one seat but not the other, for instance). It manoeuvres very well on different types of terrain, and folds up relatively compactly.

Would you choose this product to win?

I think this product does deserve to win, because it's very good at what it does: it provides a very comfortable ride for two children and it's very easy to push. It's versatile enough to use for lots of different occasions, and while not as compact as a stacking style push chair, it's still very compact for a side by side style, and still very comfortable, even for my three-year-old!

What changes would you make to this product?

It would be nice if the front wheels could lock so it would be a proper running stroller as well (I appreciate that this isn't what the stroller is trying to do, though!) It would also be nice if it were lighter to carry and more compact, though I think if this were the case it would also not be as comfortable to use. It's also very expensive but I think it's a well-made stroller, and as with many things you get what you pay for.

Would you recommend the Nipper Double V4 to other mums?

This buggy was very light and narrower than a lot of double buggies so it would go through a single doorway very easily. The babies seemed to be very comfortable as it laid back nearly flat. The quality of the materials used seems very good and the maneuverability was excellent. Overall I think it is very good value for money.

How did this product make your life easier?

This buggy is very lightweight so going uphill with 2 babies makes it easier to push. It folds away very easily and is smaller than other ones I have seen. I can now go to my local park because it is narrower than my other buggy so enables me to go more often. When folded it takes up less room in the car so I can go on days out much easier.

Would you choose this product to win?

This buggy is lightweight, very well built using what seems like very good quality materials with lots of features and folds up very easily to a compact size. The outstanding feature for me is the narrow width enabling me to access shops, parks, and toilets more easily.

What changes would you make to this product?

There is one negative about this buggy and it is to do with the sitting up mechanism. It is not a problem changing the position of the backrest from laying flat to sitting up when the buggy has no baby in but when a baby is asleep and laid flat and wakes up and wants to sit up it is very difficult to hold the backrest up and pull the strap up that holds the backrest in place especially if it gets twisted.

Would you recommend the Nipper Double V4 to other mums?

I would definitely recommend this product to all mums with twins or two kids, good ride, tyres not plastic and baby doesn’t feel bumps so much on the road. It’s easy to fold and good to take with you when needed, it reclines too which is great for little sleepers, it’s a lovely stroller for mums and babies.

How did this product make your life easier?

Easy to fold and take away with you wherever you go, it’s a lovely pram to take on holidays or family trips. Easier fold then some of the prams as it folds down with seat on and doesn’t take up much room when needs to be stored, or in the car. At the same time it’s pure comfort for mummies and babies.

Would you choose this product to win?

I personaly loved the easy and comfy ride because tyres are not plastic as some or prams are and makes your ride so much more bumpier. It’s a good price for a double pram, and both babies are next to each other, not like some prams one of the babies has to be at the bottom and one on the top bit of the pram.

Tested by mum Sheridan Wallace for the M&B Awards 2017:

Would you recommend the Nipper Double V4 to other mums?

Absolute joy to use, very lightweight and both babies have lots of room to manoeuvre comfortably. Folding the Nipper Double V4 is very easy as it folds almost like a book this gives us a lot of space when storing in the pantry. It is slightly difficult to get into the boot but that is to be expected with a double pushchair however this is easily sorted by removing the boot shelf (Vauxhall Astra) although we haven't had to take apart to clean thoroughly yet, wiping spills is very easy on the material.

How did this product make your life easier?

Most side by side double pushchairs can be difficult to fit through most standard doors but with the Nipper Double V4 having a single wheel at the front this makes it very easy to manoeuvre comfortably.

What changes would you make to this product?

The colour of the pushchair is fantastic (carnival red) but my personal preference would of been for a black one. Also the overall size once folded (which I appreciate cannot be changed due to being being double) but this would allow for easier storage in the boots of most cars. Apart from that I would not change a thing and think this is a fabulous pushchair!

Tested by mum Michelle Henderson for the M&B Awards 2016:

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

For a double it’s very light to push, easy to stir, easy and quick to fold and unfold, seats recline separately, nice big individual hoods.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

It means I can get out and about with my two little ones.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

That it came with footmuffs as well.

Tested by mum Melanie Barnes for the M&B Awards 2016:

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

It's light in weight for a double, easy to fold and unfold, easy to push even with an 18 month old and 3yr old, got deep seats for comfort, separate hoods and separate reclining seats suitable for young baby.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

It's easy to push and easily fits through shop doors, both seats recline independently and hoods work independently too, good size air filled wheels, great on either flat or rough bumpy surface, makes going shopping an easy and pleasant trip.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

The two baskets are on the small side and not too easy to access quickly.

Tested by dad Toni Barnes for the M&B Awards 2016:

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellowparent?

This one is comfortable, compact and light, so easily manouvered when transporting two children.

How does this product make your life easier as a dad?

The three larger wheels, and comfortable springing makes this very manoeuvrable with just one hand. Great also for covering rough ground without jolting etc.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

No specific changes.

Tested by mum Vicki Lee for the M&B Awards 2016:

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

Really good quality material. I love the fact that it has two separate hoods. Also it has little pockets on the hoods, so really good if you want to hide and carry more things. Lovely colour and very easy to fold up and put down. Has top viewing windows too. The handle as a straight bar instead of handles and made of a foam texture. Again, very comfortable. Easy to manoeuvre, wipe clean seats. Brilliant design. The value for money is reasonable.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

Can get babies in and out of it easily. and manoeuvre more easily than other strollers I’ve had.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

I personally prefer wheels that are solid and not ones that need pumping up. But this is standard with this type of stroller. Not a major thing.

Tested by dad Richard Barnes for the M&B Awards 2016:

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow parent?

A wonderfully designed double side by side pram, strong robust and great for around town or out in the country. Keeps your children safe, secure and comfy even on rough terrain. A great all round double pushchair built to the highest quality. Easy to keep clean and maintain.

How does this product make your life easier as a dad?

Keeps your children secure and comfy when you need to take them out and about and does not matter if switching from town to country. No need to buy two different prams one for town and one for country so saves you money.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

More storage space, maybe an under handle bag.

Tested by mum Catherine Jones for the M&B Awards 2016:

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

The pram is very robust and sturdy making it easy to push. The adjustable handle is good as it makes it easier if yours is tall like me. The only negative point I have is it is very bulky when folded and takes up a lot of space in the car boot.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

The pram is really snug for the children that can sit next to each other nicely and having separate hoods is a great idea when one of them is asleep and the other is awake. It is easy to put up and the wheels on and off. Having pockets in the hoods is very handy for bits and bobs.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

If I could change one thing about the pram it would be to make the chassis about an inch narrower. The pram will fit through most external doors but not internal doors. This is a bit of an issue if you take the kids for a stroll and they go to sleep and you then need to bring the pram indoors.
